Regular users through Poole.Nice pic Dean where did you find that to?
Yeah got a fair few of Ralphs ! Heres another,do you remember this fella Willie Evans one of the funniest
blokes I have ever met in my life. Used to cry with laughter when he was on song. Remember him and
Noel Minchew on fine form one night holding court with about 8 other drivers. Wish I had taped it you
could sell it and make a fortune !
Geoff, remember Ings transport well they were based just outside Fordingbridge. I do not remember
them shipping out ? Were they just traction picking up and dropping off at the docks ?
They used to be just bulk hauliers back in the 70s/80s.

They probably did mostly traction but remember seeing them in spain and Portugal. One of their drivers Gary used to carry a fold up Bike in his cab and I have seen him cycling on the road between Burgos and Valladollid. He certainly lost a lot of weight.Happy days

He must have been friendly with Toby Geoff .
Did anyone see the mad old man on a clapped out 50 cc moped with no lights on the road before the border with Portugal, he was a drunk, and weave all over the road and played a trumpet and sing out loud, after Salamanca before Villa Formosa ?
He would be out there late at night, it was a miracle how he was not mown over by a Porker on a mission.
Burgos to Valladolid is a long way on a bike, about 90 miles or so.
Unless he took the old road that the farmers use parallel to the new road in the 90,s.

Never seen him playing a trumpet but saw plenty of mopeds and motor bikes and sometimes other vehicles with no tail lights in Portugal. Now they have motorways everywhere I doubt they are allowed on them.regards Geoff

I do remember Willie, its such a shame that in those days the phones wern’t as good as they are now Dean or we all could have made a fortune from the antics we all used to get up to.Thanks once again for the photo,s Geoff
Loading empty wine barrels from a wine yard on the Gironde opposite Bordeaux. No doubt a lot of you
loaded wine back from here ! This turned out to be a good little job as I had already loaded a small move
back to the UK on the front, and the wine barrels were delivered 12 miles from the move back in Devon !
The Gironde estuary. The fisherman cast nets from the dodgy little wooden huts on stilts, which looky like they could collapse at any moment !!
