Ok thanks for that, I found that pic on the net somewhere ? Did they change colour schemes and
use to run f16s at one point or am I getting them mixed up with someone else ? I seem to remember a company with f16s with livestock trailers on which I thought was mdf ■■
Thanks to Dean Dennis and Nigel for your input I think I got your share of photos Den I am going to show this thread to Peter and try to get more photos from him. Today is not going to be a very nice day for me I am going to the funeral of a very good friend of mine Alex Henderson (ten bellies ) best known as a Ralph Davies driver. Here’s one more to take my mind away from reality. I think this is me following you down the Mont Cents Dennis.
Sorry Geoff I put this on the wrong one.

that mdf pic of the f 88 is pukka, mark farrow did a wonderful job restoring it over quite a long period in his barn at mattishall . When it was finished and was back in the yard atGY I told Mark that my first trip to spain was in a 240 hp f 88 and it would be nice to take the old girl out for old times sake. i got the keys, climbed up in , sat there for a few minutes looking around the cab and thought “No it bloody wouldn’t” As far as I know it went to a few shows and that was about all it ever did.

Was that fair weathers old one Keith sorry for my mistake he must have done that years after I left how you keeping mate
No, it was one he found somewhere, as i said he did a great job on it, no extra lights or chrome just bog standard. I’m doing well thanks I finished up on Matthews for 11 yrs and now happily retired. I think I know you but I can’t remember your name. I don’t know if you are aware that Ray Waterton is sadly no longer with us and of course Joe passed on many years ago. Are you still in the south or did you go back to Norfolk?

Still in the south mate you do know me Geoff run with you a few times when I worked for mdf used to have my mrs with me a few times yea I heard about Ray and also see your comment the other week about ditchy not being that well in Thailand
Tony Ferguson was the tall slim guy with Fairweather’s F16. He boughtit off of Fairy just as he was winding up. I met up with him again in Hungary one time when we were both on Matthews, good bloke, he had a horrendous crash in Spain and the experience just about finished him going abroad.

Yes he was strange Nigel !Another big operator that was always through Poole were Carna Tpt,are they still trading ■■
Hi all , just catching up…
As regards Carna, I’m living in Southern Ireland now and I see their trucks regularly so I guess the answer is yes they are.
Nice to see the Partrans pics. They were the Southampton arm of Partricks and I pulled their trailers regularly and also did holiday relief sometimes for " Snoopy " one of their regular drivers some may recall.
He was at Calor in Millbrook when I was there in the 80’s I took Voluntary redundancy in '94 when they were starting to change all the contracts and conditions. Snoopy may still be there, anyone know?
As an aside to that. The Managing Director of Partrans was Roy Maclean I’m still in touch with him and visited him in the UK just last week. Sadly he’s been in poor health this last 10 years .
Also I was pulling one of Partricks trailers loaded out of Portalegre when I dumped it on its side on the way up to Cherbourg. Oops.
