I’m looking forward to showing my dad this forum over Christmas - I’m sure he will enjoy looking at the photographs of the old tankers and will be interesting to find out which ones he drove.
Best regards
Darren

Leyland Gas Turbine tractor unit with a fuel oil tank trailer. I am sure I was told it operated out of Stanlow , Cheshire.

Hi there Paul, yes, I think your right… can remember it being featured in the Shell-Mex and BP news magazine… one of the drivers was saying as he drove through Chester everyone was looking up into the sky thinking there was a jet plane coming into land… It was an experimental Leyland and don’t think they got any more… Did you see my reply to the Scammell Trunker and trailer?..cheers…Bryan
Here is a Foden 8 wheeler with a rather unusual tank , the road barrel is the same tank trailer made by Thompsons of Bilston , cut down to measure and fitted onto this Foden chassis.
