mrken:
Marky didnt they once have a highline cab F10 with a L10 ■■■■■■■ in it I am sur I remember reading about it once
I think you’re right Ken - I’m sure I read something similar in Commercial Motor. Was it Bass or Scottish & Newcastle?
It was Bass - Mr Roger Denniss and the Brewery Transpor Advisory Committee. It was lightened too, even down to having a Bedford CF seat for he occasional passenger
I spotted the yellow peril and had to say summat - IIRC, that was the one and only insuliner that FM acquired. It ran out of Dover and spent most of its life in France (I think it was for a fruit job in the south.) Obv its one of Les Knights in the pic but it spent most of its earlier life behind one of the LHD Iveco 6 wheelers driven by a nice chap who lived down Dover way but think he was from Manchester. Another piece of useless info as regards this Boallloy trailer, again IIRC it was the only trailer that FM had in the fleet with white curtains (its reefer application.) I put my mark on it when, after tipping a load up in the NW, the driver was sent to Rubery Owen in Wrexham for a load of axles back to France, except when the trailer was built, because of its food spec, they hadn’t put any ropehooks on it. Hence me and the portable welder added some!
Ok to start todays few, heres Febrys ERF seen in their yard at Chipping Sodbury, originally a tipper in the early days on the fleet and only as a day cab…more useless information.
A sad day when this pic was taken, the auctioning off of the fleet at Avonmouth…this old Foden wrecker awaits its fate.
Ian Yellings Transcon having a rest at Mid-Somer Norton.
Roadtrains as far as the eye can see…Truckfest P/boro.
The cafe at Briton Ferry sees T.E&J Lords from Hull 112 taking a break.a Mc Donalds sits on this site now.
Finally, heres Bellgates 113 topline heading west on the M4.

Hi coca cola kid, the FG Foden and the Albion were photographed at Murton tractor rally at the live stock centre at York. The Foden is driven by Malcolm Slater and the Albion was owned by Stan Houseman from Melborne near York. I think that the photo will date from the late 80s. I don’t know much about the Albion other than it had living accommodation in the back of it. The Foden is ex Marley tiles and later passed into the ownership of Liam Quinn an owner driver from York whos father drove a similar Foden for NMU at York duriong the 60s. Regards Tony H.
Hi Tony, Thanks for the info, they was taken by a tractor enthusiast who would have been there as an exhibitor I’m sure. Cheers Mel
Keeping with the B.E.T Theme on they way back from Holland, Dad drove for them and the Kids loved to see them and shout Hello Grandad. Pics taken just outside Ostende on the way to catch the ferry home. Oh bye the way the little lad is now 6 ft 2in tall
Hi Marc somemore Sea Route Ferry of Southampton and Heywood memories

A missed Welsh haulier, this 95 DAF of Hills heads home to Cardiff on the M4.
