Scrapbook Memories (Part 1)

OzzyHugh:
G’Day Folks

Thought you guys might get a laugh out of this old Aussie advert for Leyland trucks - putting them to the test !

Ozzie hugh

youtube.com/watch?v=sSrhnV3V … re=related

That was probably all that Leyland did ,then it was scrapped, did the passengers wig fall off when he was driving over a bump or did i imagine it?

Wheel Nut:

Not one hi viz and not one dead body in sight, those men were hard as nails, and didn’t moan about the ■■■ lighter missing or the lorry because it didn’t have electric windows, they had less than half the horsepower of a Tesco trunker and still had time to share a yarn or a joke. :stuck_out_tongue:

And yes, it is a great picture of the Kammac flat top with the spray Marcus

Where was that taken ,great picture

Hi again, good stuff from Whiplash…well done mate.heres more from me.

An Adrian Cypher pic seen on the A420 through Swindon, the driver gone for a breakfast at the cafe opposite the park.

I might be wrong but weren’t some BSC Orb Works motors known as Monmouthshire Transport? I know Bulwark ran some in BSC colours and also Edwards from Lydbrook as well.Looks like the Atki number plate was stencilled with the reg number.

Starting to look a bit like a shunter in the bottom pic, isn’t it? The home-made to bumper, the cowl is missing off the instrument panel - something of an unloved look!

So this is old photo from Cert Warrington this was our shuntter that the Transport Manager got i think from somewhere in the South . Anyone got any info on it , it still has its reg plates on it

an old Taunton Cider wagon?

Maybe an old Hertz rentawagon?

not the right reg to be a somerset truck, & a bit too yellow for taunton cider, but just enlarged the pic & like the catwalk bolted to the side so’s the driver doesn’t actually have to get down from the cab then climb up on the back for the air lines !

not having much luck in the 43ers thread so can any one here spread any light on this nosed grill pannel on this 143 ?

Must have been a cowboy outfit in its day. No mudguards, lights, mirrors, wiper or ropes on the load.

Cheers Phil.

They also did a nose job on a Scammell that ended up at Allelys. I’m sure it was just a locker for bits of kit.
