Hello again, more nice stuff from marcus22(good name that ) and Mark R ,hey mate…thats 2 of us with the whole series of Truck magazine then…mines in the garage though
Ok…heres todays selection.
One of my all time favorite shots, one of Kammacs F12s heading west on the M4…Rolling shots might not be everybodies cup of tea but to me its a natural “as it was” picture…you cant turn the clock back.
Same location on the M4 but a brighter day, this F10 has a brand new Liebier excavator on its back.
A,J.Wyatt from Cluttons Sed/Atk 3-11 again on the M4.
A change of location now,the A361 between Frome and Shepton Mallet, heres P.C.Lyons 113 going for a load of blocks
Not far behind was its sister motor, this one belonged to BG and DB Heal of Sandford.
Cornwall now,the A30 near Redruth sees J and RJ Harrisons Transcon giving it big licks along the dual-carriageway.The company was tied in with Bugle Transport and all the lorries were named ,this one was “The Satanist”…others were “Witchfinder”, “The Midnight Mass” and “The Devils advocate”…on a Marathon that one.
First day on the road for this F2000,I know that 'cos I was the driver ,seen in Reading services en route to Wapping, east London to collect a load of “The Sun”.these M.A.Ns did nearly 1,000,000kms before disposal.
Last pic for today, heres P.A.James ECS ERF,heading west on the M4,I did hear Mr James looks in now and then
bubbleman:
Hi then, good pics from Marcus22,Numbum and Pat…well done lads,Heres todays stuff.
Seen passing Leigh Delamere services on the M4 this LHD Iveco is heading west,I dread to think what Harry and Dennis will say about the roping and sheeting
Cheers Bubbs,
hiya,
Well what can you say, other than what a mess, I wouldn’t drag that about on nights I’ll bet he didn’t dare take it into his own yard his guvnor would have chased him.
thanks harry long retired.
I don’t know, considering that he hasn’t got a lot to work with, those sheets have seen better days and whatever’s underneath them was obviously just thrown on the trailer, he’s done a decent job of it really, only the rip near the landing legs lets it down
I have to agree with you mate and it’s worth considering, with that company, it could have been loaded by a shunter. All in all the roping aint so bad and perhaps it’s a load of skins! Well you wouldn’t want to use ya good sheets on them now would ya!
A,J.Wyatt from Cluttons Sed/Atk 3-11 again on the M4.
bubbs you legand i can remember when when this was new when dalgety bought it before like most of dalgetys fleet they got sold off to mr wyatt !! when was that pic taken mate
These drivers deserve a medal.Excellent pictures jasper59 + retriever.
ure right there john its makes me laugh when i hear drivers at our place complaining about the slightest thing and when u reckon up what lads went through in the good old days u have to take ure hat off to them…heres a few more of siddle cooks and a couple of brs
Not one hi viz and not one dead body in sight, those men were hard as nails, and didn’t moan about the ■■■ lighter missing or the lorry because it didn’t have electric windows, they had less than half the horsepower of a Tesco trunker and still had time to share a yarn or a joke.
And yes, it is a great picture of the Kammac flat top with the spray Marcus
A very practical solution I would say in fact it was much used tactic in the old days, drivers would probabley have to go on a course these days to qualify to be able to do it. Regards Larry

what do you mean , no health and safety ? the siddle’s scammel’s got a big baulk of wood behind the wheel , can’t get much safer than that , dave
Dave that was the mates job as I’ve done it a few times when the road as got slippery or the wagon as run out of puff and we had to wait for another wagon to double head us
cheers Johnnie

i like that shot of conway gate , took the wife there for a long weekend ( romantic devil wasn’t i )? we were strolling along about where the photo was taken when an irish 3300 daf shot through the arch , big bang and a shower of broken glass , both mirrors off and he never slowed down . must have been late for the ferry , dave
