Scrapbook Memories (Part 1)

Numbum:
Hi Spardo,
From memory the only time a woman spoke to me through the window as in the photo was to ask me if I was lonely and would I like some company. In her case I dont think so.

You must be one of the younger fellows. :unamused:
Personally I think she’d make a very nice cup of tea.

Marcus is spot on with the photo of the transporter on the A4. Some of the people who jumped from the bridge used to splat on the road but now that canopy is there they would just bounce off it without affecting the traffic.

I thought Penmaenmawr at first but then changed my mind. In answer to the comment about the bridge, perhaps he could have unloaded the bottom cars, driven them through, then lowered the top deck and put the whole lot back together again on the other side.

Pleased about the A4 canopy though, the last thing you want spread all over you brand new car is a Bristolian.

You have my sympathy bma, I tried driving twice in Finland and it frightened me. Fortunately I was following somebody so didn’t go wrong but often wondered where we were going. I borrowed a bike and got around on that and must say that bikes are very well catered for there.

It looks like the tunnels at Penmaenmawr on the A55 but that begs the question how did he get under the 13ft 9in railway bridge at Conwy the under harbour tunnel wasn’t built then ?
[/quote]
Hiya Trev…hows things ■■..it looks like north wales to me… you never know the dodge drive may have had to turn round because of that bridge.
if so he’s in for a real detour to get into Llandudno Juction from there. its been known to happen

only thing i wonder ,how can you drive so well on wrong site of the road , or are we doing it?

Well, those still living in England would say that it is you who are on the wrong side, but of course for many years now that includes me.

One thing that interests me, but perhaps you aren’t old enough to remember, is, if you think it is difficult coming to a different country and drive on a different side of the road, how much more difficult would it be to drive across a land border, say from Kemi in Finland to Lulea in Sweden, and change over on the road?

Thinking about it you are unlikely to be old enough, can’t remember now but it was many years ago that Sweden drove on the left too.

Just trying to think if there is any land border where that happens. Spain/Gib perhaps? Long time since I was there.

I heard that a Bristolian was the untouched natural version of a Brazilian so it might not be so bad.
