truckfing:
Can I apologise to everybody for putting a land Rover on this thread but it was an innocent response to a question by bma.finland about UK vehicles in Finland. All I was saying was that the only UK vehicle I saw while there was a LR. (I did also see a couple of Routemasters but no way was I putting a bus on here).
There is no need to apologise. As for Routemasters I have beside me now by the monitor - its one of those superb large Sunstar models of a Routemaster. Route 207, which if anyone remembers back into the 1950s was previously the old 607 trolleybus route between Shepherds Bush and Uxbridge which turned around by the Odeon Cinema.
Oh No - now you’ve gone too far - Using the B word on a truck forum - tut tut
I have just posted this on the Peter Slater forum but I noticed your appeal for help in redirecting Bubb’s forum back onto its correct path so I hope this gets things moving in the right direction.
May I make a suggestion - why not start a Land Rover topic then everyone would be happy. As Bubbs knows I am a Land Rover owner and would add my to the new topic but not here, not on Scrapbook Memories.
Hi retriever do you have any more photos of Shaws , Shaws Fuels, Sykes Bulk Liquids Sheaf Petroleum or Shawfleet they were all the same firm I worked there mid 70s to mid 80s and started a thread in the photo section
Cheers Johnnie
Would like share a few scans with you all from our old Commercial Motor mags of Trailers. The first set is a late sixties add from York and then a Crane Fruehauf add. Hope you like I will try and upload more pictures.
Yeah they are our favorite trailers. My Dad says he used to to go a York dealership for brochures on York Rd in Doncaster. A fridge unit suppliers has taken the spot now. We are not too sure what happened to York but when you search them on the internet they look like they are based in China, but mainly just axles.

Interesting and unusual Merc307 in the background with, what looks like,an A-frame drawbar.
That 307 belongs to heath haulage of stoke on trent in the late 80"s early 90"s with possibley me behind the wheel ,we had four of them trailers and they were a pain to reverse unless you were empty then you would unhook them and push it around, the load in the pic were air conditioning stuff from a firm in stoke called moducell and because the stuff was light you could get a few boxes on them .also we had to run a tacho when we had trailer on …
