hiya,
Hello Chris and here’s me thinking it stood for “making whoopee today” just goes to show how out of touch i am should never have been allowed near a lorry, anyway i always wanted to run away and join the circus, well my teacher always said i was a clown.
thanks harry long retired.

You can imagine the relief on the drivers face when he was given a new F86 instead of a Thames Trader. Jim McKelvie had eventually seen the light.

This was on the internet and I cant ever remember ever seeing another picture of Swindells on Trucknet

the now defunct northwest trucks website had a nice set of swindells pic’s,any one got any new’s on it’s return?

I saw a restored 290 88 in Swindells colours on Appleton Thorn a few years back, it was there everytime I went there, it was in 98ish, I think I’ve seen pics of it in one of the vintage mags on a road run

I did run away and join a circus Harry - they called it the RAF. And years later I was known as “Bognor” at GGD 'cos I was always acting the goat and the Clown’s Convention was always at Bognor Regis.I only ever went to Bognor once,to the old Presto supermarket in 1986,tipping in the middle of the night and I didn’t see one bloody clown, where did they all go? :grimacing:

Morecambe maybe?
Tin 'at on…

I know we don’t do bling on this thread, but I found this one and it is local to home, well my old home.

hiya,
W N the only time i ever “drove” a Foden was back in the 60s one of Robinson’s half cab things a distance of a hundred yards and i was’nt at all impressed but this beauty actually looks like a proper lorry a real workhorse without too much bling and would quite enjoy a little “cabby” in one like that.

Any info on what these might be would be appreciated!
