Hi Marcus,
Some cracking stuff as usual hope you don’t mind but have posted the above picture of the Seddon Atkinson 300 on to the Northwest Trucks site were Chris Gardner has kindly supplied me with some very interesting information about the 300 series that Pandoro operated.
Keep up the great work

Hello again,Seddons,Sed/Atks etc today.
.
Cheers Bubbs.
This is the closest I’ve seen to an ex lorry of mine on the thread, in 86/87 I had UGC 844W, it also came off the Watney fleet, I think it was around the time that Brewliners started up & they (Watneys) got a load of new F10s, anyway back to the Sudden Accident, it had an E290 ■■■■■■■ & a fully automatic gearbox, that made it a real flying machine away from the lights. I went to Germany a few times in the old girl, happy memories, thanks Bubbs
Hello Paul, glad you liked the Pandora pic…heres a cover of a brochere with the same lorry.
Cheers Bubbs.

And there was a story to that pic too, Marc: it was one being driven by one of the fitters on the B-road from Kirkham to Weeton, just for that photo. It hadn’t actually been registered (the block of registration marks was reserved) and there were no trade plates either. I recall some shouting and pointing…
These were a fairly gutless thing, but at least they managed to turn out for work every day, unlike the Buffaloes they replaced!
Hiya Bubbs, I’m just wondering … roughly how many boxes of cuttings have you kept over the years ? (They must take up the space of an armchair.)
I started out doing the same thing storing them in old shirt and shoe boxes from around 1967 - 73, then once I married they mysteriously vanished
I managed to rescue a few old “Observer’s” books but the scan quality from them is really bad … sounds like I should have kept my cuttings in one of those “Man Boxes” Michael McIntyre goes on about.
Bye the way can you ever remember seeing any photos of a Manchester haulier called “Helmark” from the 80’s, Black Merc SK and a Transcon’ with a Gold band. And another Tameside outfit called “Trux 2000”, I’m sure i’ve seen something about them both in mags I’ve thrown out.
As usual I think your our only hope to track them down again.
Hi again, great info from 240 on that Sed/Ak…wasn’t that naughty …Tipit, the clippings are in 3 boxes …2ft x 1ft and 8 inches deep(metric hasn’t come this far south yet)…there were 4 but 1 has the ones I’ve done…apologies though mate, never heard of Helmark or Trux2000…sorry,but that doesn’t mean something may show up
Hope these are ok.
Cheers Bubbs.

Hi Bubbs, and everyone else on this forum. This is my 1st post on here, so erm… hello I’ve been looking through your scrapbook memories for a while now, some great pics in
there, but the picture of the 4 ford transcons is what i’ve been waiting to see the most. They used to belong to my dad, Hughie Hill, they were pulling for T.O.E in the 70’s. My dad had the one with the stripes on the bumper, FJU 979V, and the one to it’s left, RUT 734R, was his 1st brand new truck, happy day’s FJU was featured in “LDD” with Gerry Holmes going to Italy. Thanks Bubbs, nice to see that picture, we haven’t got many photo’s of all four of them together, will have to dig some out and post them up. Cheers, nick.

Not if the driver had been told by the photographer to pull up in that position for the picture (which, it would appear, he has)

When I was at "Sykes they did something similar I took a Scammell Crusader sleeper to Hull Docks on trade plates and a number plate had been knocked up with the new registration due out in august which was “P” so would be July 75 for an advertising shoot coming off of the ferry it was done at lunch time but it had rained on the way so it took me a while to get it all cleaned up for the photo shoot so it seems as though it was the norm then.

But you had some trade plates though, Johnny!

The angle that BRS is taking the left hand bend is a bit dodgy !! I wouldn’t like to be stood on the kerb waiting to cross the road ! and I don’t give the corner of the wall much chance of surviving either !! Bewick.
Hi once more lads, glad the Transcon pic got the thumbs up from Slope. ,hope these are ok.

Bewick…You naughty naughty boy. you know the grille is ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ a Gardner would sick out a little for the oil cooler. Now stop winding up
