Bubbs, That 143 of Hammonds was an owner driver - From Wales if I remember correctly :confused: They would always load him for the west country or Wales,

Hello ainacs, January 2008, I was told by Tony Stevenson, Neils partner in CVAM, by telephone on 14th, the funeral was at St Asaph Parish Church, 25. 01. 08. Seems only yesterday, they say time flies as you get older! Boy, it`s flying for me! Cheerio for now.

Staying with Scanias,This one of Alfords is seen northbound on the M5.


Same location as the last one but the other way,a crappy day sees this DAF 2800 of Kettlewells heading south.


M4 for this Transcon from Portsmouth.


Hammonds 143 heads home to Kent for another load of plasterboard…poxy stuff!!


Heres one of one our friends from the South Wales threads motors heading home empty on the M4.

I would have thought the FFU registration would have originated from the Humberside area but i could be wrong i usually am :wink:

No Ramone you are right. “FU” was Lincolnshire (Lindsey) up to 1974 then Lincoln after that. :slight_smile:

I had A453 FFU a p cab Scania 6 wheel unit

J A Bunn were bought & run by Gagewell in Brighouse was part of Stephen Cooks empire including Macfarlane & Clipper Transport.

The FFU Scania could well have been supplied by Scantruck of Grimsby

Elliots are still going but downsized a couple of years ago just a couple of 7.5 and couple of skip lorries and a few 6 and 8 wheel tippers now cheers flourpower.

Has any body got any other shots of the Woodside Brothers fleet circa 1970 ish.

Hi again,heres todays stuff.

This Crusader is seen on Aust services on the old Severn bridge,this one I believe was another of the cancelled export order that were snapped up at a reasonable price.


Heres a familiar livery we dont see any more,this Dairy Crest(MMB) ERF heads west on the M4.


This DAF 3300 is eastbound on the M4,operated by Robsons from Bermondsey(I fink) :smiley:


M5 for this old Foden 8 wheeler of W&J Rigby from Wigan.


Tony Morgans 142 seen with a concrete section probably from Costains at Bridgend(Andy,Pete 359 will correct me if I’m wrong)


Another Scania,this time a 112 of Paulton Transport seen on the M4.

Thanks for your comments Fredm,I’ve photgraphed from that bridge for about 30 years,the trees are growing out now and getting into the shot,I “broke down” one morning at 2am and used the lorry to shield me from prying eyes while I set to with a saw to some branches :open_mouth: …got cut to bits on the brambles,but my trimming worked :smiley: :wink: .
These days the bridge is for people on foot but several times when cars were allowed on it I nearly got hit running to the other side for a shot…I cant run these days :unamused:

Ex Brs oxford contract vehicle , was driven by Tony Smith from new , when he was asked to leave ( too many dodgy nights out ) Tony Botto took over and me as holiday relief .

Ivor Parry drove this truck on the Fleetwood night trunk , the number plate is wrong it should be F995SOU .

Hi Bubbs, Elliotts of Cheltenham are still running tippers although I think the brown livery’s being replaced with red…

Excellent pic’s MR KEN, loved the old Elstran fleet, alway’s looked spot-on. One of the nicest liveries in the south east.

Swindon again ,Plants EC ERF looks well in the sunshine.


Baileys Transcon heads west on the M4.


LHD Transcon also on the M4,I’m sure somebody on here asked me for a shot of this one…its GJN243Y.
