ECE aka Eric Edwards who was J & H 's depot Manager at Pack Horse garage at Markyate when I used to call to collect Schweppes flagons of juice for a chap in Kendal who mixed it and filled plastics cartons that were sold in Cinemas back then. He was quite a live wire Eric Edwards well he would have to be working for J & H of Peckham ! I believe he did very well for himself after he left J & H . Cheers Bewick.

Crikey Shunt it’s been a few years since I heard anyone saying going over the Alps for that road  I was gave a young driver directions for that part of the world and when I said go over the Alps he looked at me with a completely vacant expression

The Reeve AEC is a proper job, even more so that it seems adjacent dollys on some of those crossovers. Almost Australian style separate short ropes.

You mean the proper way, David?

Well, the way the Aussies do it, but I disagree it is the best way, though did almost no roping when I was there. Fine for the average height loads contained within the side gates and ropes just the right size for going over the same. But for lower loads, wastage of rope, and for higher loads more wastage tying 2 together. 2 Long ropes backwards and forwards one size fits all, far more economical in my view.

Water well under the bridge and gone nowadays though.

He’s not hurting anyone and sharing pictures further. I enjoy his pictures, regardless of their source.

You seem to have a grise MML is it the weather getting you down, see you been at the job 46 years me a bit longer so I know how it can effect ones natural enjoyment, there is a cure though and posting pictures on TNUK for all to view no matter where the source is one medicinal option, maybe you should try it. I was no David Baily but wish now I had made more effort on my extensive travels both here in the UK & Europe but we never had mobile phones back in the day so its good that some of us did bother with a conventional camera else we would have nought to look back at, have a nice rest of the day, Buzzer

Not on Facebook either so I enjoy buzzers and everyone who contributes not interested where the photo’s came from just enjoy seeing them . I’m recovering from a heart attack :open_mouth: . So a big thank you and keep up the good work buzzer and everyone else who contributes  cheers Ray

Well Buzzer boy…
I feel you answered the " quote / statement " made by moomooland very gently, you must have been chewing down on your leather belt when you wrote this polite answer…

In our days we were only just lucky enough to have a "Box Brownie " camera, out of 16 pics taken we were lucky if we got 12 that could be developed, lol. The time since said photos were taken they lighten very much and they are hard to see properly now. I found as I drove, my pictures were in my head as I scanned the countryside by eye, in the places I went, so unfortunatley my storage card is in my decreasing memory bank. The memory bank ( A million Megabytes) ( The early SD Card ) decreases for most of us from 60 onwards and as we head towards 80 the storage capacity- lightens / thins out more quickly. So photos that you and the others put on are very very well appreciated and enjoyed.
Like you said Buzzer some of us on here have been at this job many years and enjoyed it overall, and the memories.

Please Buzzer and all others continue to post so we can all enjoy, it does not matter from where they come from, I am another one that does not use Faceache.
Regards as always
