I thought for a moment that was a starting handle sticking out the front!

Kerr of Glasgow steam traction engines, top picture hauling 40 ton transformer on route to Loch Tummel Hydro scheme in 1930 and bottom picture holding up the trams while on way to Greenock Docks with a locomotive for the Egyptian Railways this in 1947.

I remember going to Trinity Paper Mills at Ramsbottom every saturday morning with my dad , Richard Nuttalls,J and H Hinchcliffes,WJ Ridings and Barnes and Tipping were to name a few companys who loaded reels of paper out of there.Nuttalls had some 6 and 8 wheeler ERFs and i also remember a Leyland 6 wheeler would that be a Retriever with an ergo cab.They used to go up Peel Brow which was a long steep hill which must have tested the ERFs with the 180 Gardners.The mills closed now :frowning:

They were based at the top of the hill from Ramsbottom,there was a cafe in the gateway,he had a very old fire engine in the yard very rare too ,i think he ran some Atkis too and i also remember him buying some brand new Dennis 4 wheelers with the square cabs and 180 Gardners the fleet was always well turned out
