This was one of a small fleet operated by LT Stevenson in the early sixties badged as Leyland but where actually Albions.

Leyland built the Leyland Beaver Mark III in Canada during the early 1950’s

Just wondered. I was the bloke who went out with the recovery truck to put it back on it’s wheels.
Aye that’s a secure load and VOSA bods today say ropes aren’t fit for the purpose everything must be strapped ! What do they base their experience on ?
anyone old enough to remember the Canadian trucking tv program called cannonball?..it was on the tv in England in the 1950s I remember watching it then…filmed just outside of Toronto Ontario the tractor was a single axle cab over jimmy.

Yep, I always watched that as a kid, think the main character was called Mike Malone, never knew it was set in Canada.
The rumble of the engine, the shifting of the gears…
