ATX 1J, The guy who drove it from new was tommy jackson.Hello again Dai,
Here she is again at Winferton going north with a load of - “ends” from Metal Box . It was very unusual
there was only single wheels on rear axle. It was a Gardner 240. I remember Tommy Jackson — was he from the Leintwardine area ?.
–Hywel –I think you’ll find a bit of bad photoshopping with this one
there’s no way this would have had single tyres on the back axle…And there not even super singles
Your spot on there “lemonmouth” with single 1100x22;5 wheels it would only have been a 6ton axle and overloaded everytime,so who would waste their time Photoshopping a fine shot of a rare motor like that ? an areosol no doubt!

Bewick.
HI Lemonmouth and Bewick,
Let me tell you about this Foden that I used to see often. It never looked safe on the road. It had three 6 ton axles which adds up to 18 tons groos on the unit. The 5th wheel was put forward to get the weight forward. If you look at the narrow wings on the drive axle,- they are inline with the deisel tank and the wing in front of the tank is further out. So the drive axle is narrower. She was only 32tons im them days.
regards —Hywel—
Hi chaps, thanks for the nice comments,I don’t know how much longer the cuttings will last,I am really struggling now to find interesting stuff and more than once I’ve repeated something I had previously put on…not realising til I wander back through the posts. However I’ll carry on for the time being and theres quite a few who pop stuff on here…daibootsy for example puts stuff on regularly so the thread should go on.Heres todays stuff…a V8 Mandator to start this week off ,Cheers Bubbs,
Well done Marcus my day would not be the same with out Scrapbook memories it’s better than our tune
That C&S wrecker looks like a 140 rebadged 141
I had a 110 on a N reg with the later headlamps and a grey steering wheel and dash so it must be a change over model
Thanks Marcus for all the time and the hard work that you put into this brilliant thread.
Best regards Steve.
Congratulations Marcus.
My favorite thread on Trucknet
Well done Marcus.
