Hello again,Paul…good pics again…bit of a dark horse not showing these gems before ,todays stuff from me,Cheers Bubbs,
Hello Marcus,
Before I started driving the firm I worked for in the early 60,s used a couple of local hauliers to help out and one was an owner driver
Ray Downton who had a cream and maroon Thames Trader and I think he lived in Kingswood. His father and brother (Ted ? ) also ran lorries one of which was a dark blue sided Commer. Ask Paul in work if this is the same Downton as in your above photo.
How does W J Downton who used to run and exterminate X BRS lorries like these Crusaders fit into the picture.
Cheers Phil.
Hi again,Phil…good to see Billy Downtons Crusaders,he used to buy any old dog and run it into the ground, when talking to Paul at work he talked of W.J.J as uncle Bill so I suppose he was R.Vs brother,I also remember the Downton with the blue Commer too ,heres todays stuff,Cheers Bubbs,
Cheers Phil
After an enforced couple of days off, here we are again then
Revman. Thanks for those pics of the Sabrina’s, lovely stuff
I always did stand at the back of the class, Marcus. I just like to see what unfolds and then dive into the fray…
Nowhere near such a fine and varied selection of pics as you have, but happy to share - as long as they last…
Todays are a few from Bloxham Rally back in the early nineties - the very first year that REVS joined in. A couple of green ones to start cos I need to wean myself off gradually…
Guess which one I took?
I know ‘Millers Potatoes’ was still in daily use at the time - does anyone know if she’s still around?
This KV is a lovely old girl - is she still about?
Hiya…that millars potato erf lorry was on the show scene 2 years ago.that was a fire engine cab cut down.
she was built with a 5 pot gardner and was used on trade plates for quite a while running erf parts around.
erf had stacks of request to build that model but never took up the orders.the cab had stacks of room inside
there was a space behind the seats like a f 86. that was ideal to sleep in.another one off i worked on.

Thanks for that info John. I seem to remember reading that she was a one off…
Hopefully she still survives somewhere…
2865 VT now has a fairground organ on it’s back. Still in the same livery apart from the signwriting.

They do, but not this year due to the rain. Fairford was another victim and my local one near our gravel pit at Ducklington was cancelled too. The ERF attends Bloxham and Fairford though.
Bloxham’s started being attended by the Foden Society again, but not as well as previous years. The tat tents have been increasing in recent years though.
A few from me Marc. Thanks for posting the one of A E Gough.
Cheers Dave.

Can anyone tell me what happened here for a free Pukka pie?
There is a Cawthorn and Sinclair lorry and is it one more or two more involved
Nice triple breasted coat.
Crap r+s on the rigid.
Some more from Bloxham… I would love to know if any or all of these are still around…
This must have been a hell of a trip down the ramps!
