I think Stellan that is the carriers licence number for Belgium, i dont think it is anything to do with mathematics mate.

Bang on the money there Bill, the Belgies always had those numbers marked on the sides of their motors, I think the V prefix denotes international, which is plausible if you think about the Flemish language :laughing:

“V” means vergunning, you also had “P” for local transport,for a radius of 30 kms from base
if I remember well

+1 dcal…Vergunning Is Licence In English. Eg. V1*1234-01 . The number after the ‘V’ would indicate what Province the company was registerd In, Followed by a *(star). after the star the first 4 numbers represent which company runs the vehicle this Is then follow with a - (dash). After the ‘dash’ you have other numbers which indicate the fleet Nr.

Sorry to hear abouth Appe, was it Lindblom or Lindholm?
Many of the guys driving international in 60 ies and 70 ies are now going over to the other side.

I have been told that number 4 from left is the older Frentzell from Pargas. I just remember a younger one hauling Scansped in the early 90ies. Number 3 and 4 from right are probably Nyholm drivers.

The Finnish trucks are from left;
Number 4 N Volvo Paul Nyholm Vasa
Number 5 Vanaja Vaano Huittinen
Number 6 N Volvo Appe Lindblom Pargas
Number 7 LS Scania Paul Nyholm Vasa

now it,s don my tribute to the 76 tread,

Hi LB76, did some work for IST, they had a small depot on Kilbuck lane haydock for a while, was in denmark in the early 70s had hitched a ride to there to see about work, ended upcoming back with one of AB shipping, remember the guy was so kackered/or still a bit ■■■■■■■ but I ended up driving his outfit from harwich to haydock IST Depot, [Scania Vabis], the one and only time I ever drove one, and it was Identical to this one?
