Looks all most real used to do return loads off them many years ago out of Rotherham or Sheffield cant remember which, lunch time finished back to work in my very small vineyard
This was my varourite lorry on show in the Scania Museum. It is an LT75, which spent its working life in Switzerland, before a factory restoration.
Mr. Robert Bengtsson, the very friendly and attentive curator of the Museum, said he had driven it and it “drives like a new truck”
Some more pictures of the LT75 in the Scania Museum.
This cab was fitted from 1958 (+/-1- bad memory) to 1966. One of our Scandinavian correspondents referred to it as the “woody.” I looked hard and could not find any trees in it. All the panels were pressed steel, joined with lines of spotwelds, in the normal fashion of a mass-produced cab. It looked as if it would hold itself together without any supporting wooden frame- has anyone on the Forum ever restored one? It would be nice to know how they were built.
Either way, BeGe, on this evidence, were a top-class coachbuilder and could have given the likes of Boalloy, Tillotson et al. a lesson or two. Flak jacket duly donned.

but bege and floby cabs had awooden inner frame bege to 66 and floby to the late 70,s cheers benkku
Hej Benkku, thanks for that. The timbers were obviously well hidden.
PS What has happened to the LB76 thread? I can’t find it, even with the poxy Search thingy. Someone give it a bump for me, please.
…And on the subject of “Woodies” and Finns, I saw this on the road from Turku to Salo, on the South side of the main road. It doesn’t look as if it does much nowadays. There can’t be many wooden L76s about any more. Save it for preservation please, Finland.

I think, if you take the 110 road towards Salo, there is a small road alongside the 110, at some point, on the South side. The yard is accessed by this small road. It may be visible from the main carriageway. Good luck with the restoration!
well anorac, you did a real scandinavian trip then,so near to my ireland as turku.8km on road 110 from turku turn right 70 km two ferrys ,thats korpo my home isle on road 180,cheers benkku
That LB76 looks like it has the (Dutch?) coachbuilt extended sleeper cab we saw on some of the previous posts.
On the subject of coachbuilt SV cabs, I was alerted by the genial curator of the Scania Museum, Mr. Bengtsson, to this:
alutrans.se/menu,6204,page,6204.html
About halfway down the page, there is a book about the history of BeGe. It appears to be in Swedish but, with Stellan’s assistance, we can translate it. I’ll order a copy.
Here’s a site for you:

Here can you see some Scania-Vabis but moust of the time you can see a Sisu.
