yes ive seen that motor around its got a ■■■■■■■ regestration i think

artic monkey:
not sure mate but scanias allways did a tag axle on the earlier ones the 111 & 141 were just the same, when they did a twin steer one it was a totally different story, no shaking or going straight on at traffic lights they were a bit useless in the wet and if you was on a site as they would get stuck easy. can you remember the only one they had at holmans andy that bruce harris used to drive i think it was the first one with the green and white cab same as your old y reg ended up been painted totally different to them older tag axles and i remember that one of djs been the worst for going straight on for some reason

Bruce had a white scania didnt he Pete Buck had one of those new f reg ones if you remember he broke his leg and was off for months and i drove it all through the summer of 89 looked after it for him, i enjoyed that summer.

ye it was white when it came it was an ex demonstrator they ran it like that for fair while then got it painted, what happened to that other f reg didnt it go straight to yarmouth and stay down there for a while then it came back looking like it had been shunting it was in a rite state then jazzer smashed it up i think

Hiya Andrew, your shot of the old Scania caught my eye because it was a north ■■■■■■■■ no.plate and would have been one of the first 112s on the road in ‘82 and this shot of one of the Bewick 112s is a similar 82’ reg. They would have been supplied by the Carlisle Scania dealer Graham Commercials. We bought this one secondhand and ran it for a while in our distance fleet. The previous owner was a firm from Silloth and I can’t remember if they were the owner from new but one funny thing I can remember was the previous tax disc in the windscreen was a “photocopy”!!! When this shot was taken in the depot the unit would be 10/11 years old and still working hard for it’s living!!Cheers Dennis.

Markley’s from Silloth eh!

hi i used to drive for mooney and morley out of selby then broxburn , spent many a night with your grandad in fraserborough will try and dig out any pics i might have.
my first wagon there was an f88 six wheel rigid then a leyland marathon and finished up with an f7. your grandad had a scania 111 when i started john arthur had the volvo f10 running out of broxburn.

Hydro:
Thanks for the prompt reply, and thanks for the welcome! A long mystery finally solved.

Articmonkey: my Grandad and Uncle both drove for Mooney and Morley for years. Grandads name is Bill Jack and my Uncle is David Patton (now driving for Holmans I believe). I remember my Grandad had the wagon at home near Edinburgh, parked up in the lane behind his house. His work was mainly the chemical runs from Ellis Everard in ■■■■■■■■■■■■ There were exceptions, one multi drop run in an F7 rigid once which took us all round the back streets of Bradford offloading at cash and carrys you’d struggle to back a car into, originally slated for the Scanny and forty foot curtainsider! They had quite a large fleet, varied too. I remember mainly Volvos, F10/12s, F7s and FL10s (dreaded wendyhouses : he got one once and even as a youngster I remember it being rather a cheap looking interior, still I loved it because it had an Eminox upright exhaust!), Scania 2 and 3 series, rigids and artics. Good memories.

My dad had one like that C91HBV, before that he had B254VRN was a tag also! He also had A983HKB which i would kill to find a piccy of, a 112m tag for Pritchards of Anglesey.

Must admit they look strange!

i had one A977NTM but had the twin wheels on the back

I used to own this Dutch spec LHD 112M A934NAR when i pulled for ASTRAN.
It used to give Mike Walkers 142 a run for its money, going up Bolu, Tarsus and Iskenderun !!
