yhis was probably bought for the EKA gear ont back which would of ended up on something more modern, which is normallly the case, the wrecker chassis is slightly longer than the usual tractor chassis,Coombe Valley Transport in Dover did the same, they bought a volvo fh brick lorry with a grab, moved the crane to behind the cab an put the EKA gear on which fits the volvo perfectly, with room for ballast tween the crane n body and the crusader front winch hangin out the front about 2 foot, looks the part n does the job even better.
A couple more pics:
Going by the phone dial code his motor is from the Isle of Wight and there is a Stag Lane Motors in Newport IOW.

The Foden is strapped on its 2nd axle . . . no it isnt . . thats the ramp stay isnt it.
I"ll get me coat
Hiya …i recon thy,er going to raise the ramp off the ground and tow the wrecker on its front wheels
just for the hell of it. unless the wrecker is also broken down. there,ll be no VOSA out there, and it may
save hours returning for it.

Hi, just looking at these photos and had to do a double take at the KW to see that it was a copy, what a great looking truck, wonder what happened to it, is it still around or bit the dust long ago ?. Must admit that I was always a bit blinkered at the time, driving a F88 and then a 111, but just wondering if I gave these motors true respect.
regards Andrew…
Found another one I used to drive:
Here are a few of Hills of Botley, near Southampton.
