Thanks to Dave Lee for this:
What a marvellous pic! But what is that odd extension to the bottom rear of the Motor Panels cab, I wonder? Robert
Some here.

That’s a firescreen Robert, I guess the drums carry flammables when they’re full - it should be fitted with a master switch and metal retainers for the rear windows as well.

Ah-ha! Pet-regs as they used to be, then. Cheers! Robert

Jakey, if that is BRS then I think the KW fleet number means it’s from Northampton depot
Yes I reckon its a Brs , must admit it does look cool being that dirty .
I think that’s no a fire screen on the blue one. It’s the drivers wardrobe!!!. Eddie.

Another beauty courtesy of Dave Lee:I don’t think I’ve seen one with a tag axle before.
That’s a cracker of a picture! I seem to remember posting one or two with tag axles on the LHD Scammell Crusader thread. Robert

Another pic from ebay:
Looking at this livery and just for a second, i thought this was a Friderici Crusader!

Yes Davidoff it does have a look of this (taken from Commercial Motor):
Thanks Steve, nice picture that is!
Mind you, Friderici always had the guts of making off-the-beaten-track choices when it came to populating their fleet.
I do not know of any other European operator who relied so heavily on Kenworth at the same time as Friderici did.
Then in the early nineties they started using Foden a lot, again an unusual choice especially here in Switzerland.
And whilst we are on the subject of CRUSADERs, I really thought I had posted this picture on this thread somewhere but simply cannot find it back.
So here goes. Last year May a few British mates united with us and we all took part in a show in France called la Locomotion en fête.
One of these brits was Terry from Dover. I imagine he is quite well-known on the collector scene for he has an absolutely brilliant lorry. Hats off to him, he has done most if not all of the work himself. A very gifted man.
Here are some pictures (some time back I did verify with him that it was okay to post pictures of his lorry, he said no problems at all).
Parked up next to another piece of British truck legend
Sunday evening, end of the show. The three of us ready to roll southbound, down to the Dordogne.
It is not often that L’escale in Chateauroux gets to see a Crusader these days.
Nor an F12 or 142 for that matter…
A Crusader in front of a fortress.
Two contributions to history. Each in their own way.
A Crusader on a bridge.
The motorway on the A20 near Souillac. The Crusader was Northbound towards Paris then Dover.
Rumours have it that the exact same lorries might unite again this year, but more towards September and this time on the British isles…
