Sales brochures

3300John:
Hiya GB1 have you had a look at the Smiths of Maddiston site. We’re desperate for a sales brochre for a Guy Big J with a 8 LXB power.CAN YOU PLEASE HELP
your our last hope.
John.

I’ve been through everything i’ve got at home, but unfortunately I can’t find anything relating to GUY’s.
However, I do know that i’ve got brochures for them, so I guess they’re in mothers attic.
If the weather improves, i’ll be going down to visit this weekend, so i’ll have a delve to see what I can find.
Hopefully i’ll find some other forgotten treasures too.
Musr say though, that I can’t recall GUY’s having an 8LXB.

KENWORTH today.

found this yesterday whilst rooting around in the attic.
Was this the basis of the Mid-East spec Marathon?

Feel sure someone asked me for anything on the Dodge 300Series, or Spanish Dodge as it was better known.

DAF this time. I’ve never been a 8-legger man, but this one certainly looks the business.

Following on from the Road Commander thread elsewhere, I thought this may be of interest.
The brochure has no date on it, but refers to thr UK Concessionaires, based at Bromborough.
I have other brochures for WHITE trucks, but they are all American issues.

Following on from the ROAD COMMANDER thread, elsewhere on this forum, I wondered if this brochure might be of interest.
Although there is no date on the brochure, it relates to the UK Concessionaires, based at Bromborough.
I have other WHITE brochures, both for the ROAD COMMANDER and ROAD BOSS, but they are American issues.

Something here from FODEN, the Fleetmaster S10.

Not sure what year this was from, but i’m sure somebody that can remember when ‘T’ plates were out.

Here we have the FORD TRANSCONTINENTAL.
Some might find the interior options of particular interest.

Seeing the brochure for the Ford Transcontinental reminded me of something that Dagenham’s elite weren’t too keen to publicise at the time - the fact that many of them were assembled in a nice, modern factory in Cheshire - belonging to Fodens !

Great brouchures on this site. This remembers me of when I was a lad .My dad worked for a firm called Koopmans. It was only the boss and 3 drivers. They had a Volvo F88 240bhp an ERF A series with a Gardner 240 and a Guy. Getting too the point they had a transcontinental on demo can’t remember what engine it had in it but it went like S**T off a shovel ! Faster than the Volvo and the Volvo went off the clock !! Please keep the pictures coming in and when I get some time I will go in the attic and get my leaflets on here.
Tony

Couple more here, but this time from the earlier version of the Transcon.

I’m trying too think what I have got in the attic . Mostly early 80’s to now trucks Volvo’s , Scanias , Daf’s MANs that reminds me I have a brouchure of a prototype MAN called the X90 .It was in truck magazine .I wrote too MAN in Germany they sent a leaflet . It was a modular design bit like the Renault Magnum but years before. I need too get in the attic !!! Its nice too see ERF A series because I never got the chance too colect leaflets on them I was too young!!
Tony

The finished version of this has appeared elsewhere on this site, but sorry, I can’t remember where.
Anyway, heres the BEDFORD TM “Long-Haul” concept truck, or, at least. what they thought the end product would look like.

I also have brochures for the rest of the TM range, which i’ll put on as soon as I get time.

Great stuff, cheers for the Kenworth one. I’d like to see some of those pics a bit bigger mind you.

The Transcon is interesting too, I had one of those.

A few more from the BEDFORD collection.

…and I thought this one was interesting. Think it’s from about 1982.
