Salary and shift pay taking you below NMW

You think they went to all the trouble of a Collective Union agreement all to get at just one driver. Then promoted me, not sacked me, after losing the resulting disciplinary hearing for refusing a reasonable management instruction.
Sounds as bleedin stupid as thinking that the guvnor can’t pay you 9.5 hours for a 12.5 hour shift if 3 hours of that shift is designated as break during a hub system transhipment sort.

I actually posted documentation in the form of a letter from the ( not so great ) Danny Bryan about the complaintS from numerous driverS concerning the changes to our specific group ( Feeder Drivers ) our jobs having been downgraded by the title, when we should have been Line Haul.
Which stayed exempt from warehouse work because in American parlance Line Haul ironically denoted/s direct depot to depot trunking not bleedin hub system zb.
You should have heard the Line Haul drivers moaning about the rare occasions when they also had to get involved in some hub system runs but were still exempt from involvement in the hub transhipment operations.
Having previously roamed far and wide across Europe doing international trunking which was subbed out to the advantage of those like Switchlogic by all accounts.
As for me if it was supposedly about them getting at me personally, then taking me off hub system crap and putting me back on a ‘line haul’ operation, after passing my A frame drawbar assessment, after a disciplinary for refusal of ‘other duties’, which I lost, was a strange way of doing it.When they could have just sacked me.

But where in the original post does the poster mention anything about working in a hub system or that the job they were offered involves them doing 9.5 hours work and 3 hours unpaid?

If anyone else can make any sense of this tripe then fair play to you. To quote Dragons Den … “I’m out”

Promoted you.   Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Please don’t mention manual labour, hub to hub transportation, A frame trailer configuration and engine braking as Geoffrey will be back on again!

Agency driver with a limp or stone in the shoe.

Not me.It looks more like on his way home after a 15 hour hub system shift the depot has no food facilities. So just time for some toast before bed.

I’d regard being put back on a proper direct trunk ( line haul ) run, after losing a disciplinary hearing, for refusal of hub warehouse transhipment duties, as opposed to being sacked, as a win.
Certainly not fitting the narrative that they were out to get rid of me.

You obviously missed the bit referring to 48 hours pay, for 5 shifts, of 12.5 hours.Dont blame me if you don’t get the figures.
I clearly stated hub system trunking transhipment downtime as ( possibly ) explaining it.
I’m still waiting for my apology from Maoster regarding the fact that break time doesn’t count towards minimum wage calculations.

To be fair the ‘actual’ Merc 2534 probably wasn’t much quicker on the hills.

Actually I’ll be truthful here CF, I didn’t read the link, you may well be correct. I don’t really care. I mainly skim read your inane drivel because to be quite frank your butchery of the English language makes my teeth itch. You speak what is recognisably English but just in the wrong order.

It’s somewhat akin to giving a chimp an AK47; you don’t know what exactly is happening but you know it makes little sense.

I used to carry half a length of a scaffolding pole to get open the container doors that are seized up from long sea crossings with the dried up sea salt or rust.
