Skint & Knackered.

From what’s been on here in the past, you may do well to give that a miss.

I traveled to their depot in Barry some 130miles approx, a couple of years ago for interview , I got offered the job at the end, but i declined due to the wages on offer, Problem was how the wage was made up, very little was actually guaranteed plus it wouldn’t of been worth my while once you take out the traveling costs , plus it was only trunking from UK to Belgium, I don’t know it this is still the case

I seem to recall tales of drivers being weekended in Swindon after having been away for weeks because management didn’t want to waste fuel.

Just remembered about the wages, the basic rate was a pittance by todays average wage , so you would rely on bonuses and how much the your truck made them or something on those lines, either way no straightforward pay scheme, to much uncertainty for me,

They send you allover and can stay out aslong as you wish the belgium runs are usually if your new to continent or if you want to be home everyother weekend money is crap trucks are getting better and the new name is now either sacker kidby or smuggling kings well it was a few month ago

I was chatting to one of their long term drivers on the ferry a few weeks ago and he was happy with the wages, trucks are always a few years old because they buy their fleet outright and don’t finance anything, he reconed they had a high staff turnover because they give everyone a chance at euro work and it’s not as glamorous or as easy as people who have never done it imagine.

I always say…Try it.If you don’t like it, give others the feedback.

+1

If you are offered a job you’d be a fool to pass it up based on other peoples opinions.

Get in quick, their new flagship arrived this morning

The chap i spoke to Andrew donnelly seemed i nice chap.

The wages are £265 per week basic 5 days plus percentage of the jobs you do plus n/out

If you dont tip or collect a load on a sat or sun you dont get paid just for driving

I said thanks for your time but no thanks

Andy, was that you I saw this morning? From Newbury? I was the tall (fat) guy stood by the door if so. See you Monday if you chose to take it :sunglasses:

Got a lot of 2nd hand newer units recently. Seems their old units were wanted in Africa so they were offered a good deal on some newer units (which looked ex innovate to me).
This was from a s & k driver loading in Bristol. He had been on their 18 months or so. Said money was not great but was near to him.
He did mention something about the fact he did not get paid for loading but it was all rather confusing to me and I was not in the mood to hang around and wanted to get going.

Think he’s a new driver all he’s bothered about it the truck and being away no mention of wages which should be the main thing to ask
