This happened yesterday 50 yards from my brother-in -laws house

Not sure about the “swerving to avoid a car” explanation■■?

Obviously the method of restraint was too weak or not present at all by the looks of those pics. ■■ :open_mouth:

Are those bits of thin wire/rope hanging from the lugs on each side. ■■

well that makes a change.
they usually say it’s a 40 ton load.

They look like chains to me.

you cant blame a speeding car for that

Looks a bit nasty that. looks to me like the chains have snapped

Were you there? Why can’t you blame a car for that? Do you carry stuff like this on a daily basis? Have you ever been cut up by a car driver?

Must have been some swerve to move that thing!

You know what ive always wondered ive seen some massive heavy haulage loads moved about without escorts then ive seen some loads that are small in comparison but have an ■■■■■■ at the front and rear. What is the story with escorts are the compulsory over certain dimensions is up to the company if a load needs an ■■■■■■?

Escorts are required over certain dimensions like over 4.1m wide and the police also make the rules

“That’ll never move”

The load has fallen off, plain and simple. Car drivers do cut lorry drivers up on a daily basis, the load wasn’t secure or that trailer wasn’t suitable for it

Seems to me, there’s a lot of mis-haps occurring in Yorkshire lately. Anything to do with the " Premier agency driver" up there? :open_mouth:

It’s simple, if swerving to avoid a speeding car caused that to happen then it was not suitably secured. Whilst it might be true that a speeding car caused to the truck to swerve and that swerving caused the load to shift, at the end of the day the reason it fell off was because it was not adequately secured.

If you say so

were you there? were you the driver?

firstly, if any of you were there then you would have seen what happened, i personally know the driver and have NO resaon to doubt what he has said
and if any of you spoke to the driver you would also know that the police did stop the car that was involved in this incident and the driver was spoken to, so please stop adding ■■■■ about a minor mishap that has now been blown out of all propotion
and YES i do work in heavy haulage also so i do know what im talking about, maybe some of you should come along with us an see just how hard our job is and how difficult it is with idiots on the road

So tells us what happened then? The car caused the lateral movement but why did the chains not hold?
