Is it a complete waste of time reporting to DVSA with regards to informing them with information that a company is putting unroadworthy vehicles onto uk roads - don’t the Regional Intelligence Unit for the area investigate. As all information received by DVSA is analysed, prioritised, and treated in a sensitive manner.
Pass me the popcorn.
Tell us more about the regional Intelligence Unit! Remember Snitches get Stitches.

Get a life mate, The DVSA will get umpteen calls a day from discrumpled ex employees and bitter and twisted people. If they acted on all of them then they would be inundated with silly accusations. Grow up.

Have to agree with this. If the company really out of control go to the police. If not you reported it. It’s logged ready for when the operater license is due for renewal. So forget about it, unless you one of these disgruntled ex employees looking for revenge. Next step is to petrol bomb the lorries.
i used to wait till the xmas break to get revenge on anyone who had Really done me over -and felt great about it afterwards. Then one year i found i was watching yorkshire ripper on youtube-just to get new revenge ideas! and i stopped getting revenges at that moment and now just let it go now feel good doing that

And stupid childish immature pricks who still act like they’re in the school playground just look like stupid childish immature pricks. People aren’t laughing with you, they’re laughing at you.
Yeah, just ignore it, then if something like this happens…

you can be happy you weren’t a ‘snitch’ that maybe could have prevented it.
If it troubles you, report it.
Nobody will be charged for alleged offences; only investigated & proven offences.

You hit the nail on the head there…‘Revenge on someone who really done ME over’’
I tend to fight so ■■■■ dirty when that happens to me or mine, I pull no punches… but more importantly because of my personal principles, and upbringing, I’ve informed them that it was me responsible for it, as that is part of the satisfaction process for me…ie them knowing I got my own back (granted there has been repercussions in the past, but as long as I watched my back, nothing I couldn’t handle.
On the other hand there are the snivelling weasels who take great pleasure in reporting all and sundry at the drop of a hat, for stuff that simply dies not affect nor concern them personally.
They would not think of confronting people face to face, nor as I said letting the reported know that they were the reporter, but prefer to do it covertly behind someone’s back…scum of the earth imo.
These are the types I would gladly take great pleasure in watching them burn to death very slowly, they are a cyst on society in my view.
I suspect we’ve heard the last of (Not So) Lucky Matty on the forum, if we haven’t then he’s got skin tougher than leather.

If that’s the case well I’m with you, it.s your locence and more importantly your life in possible danger…, .but just pull into the next DVSA checkpoint you come across, that will sort the job out in a 1er

Thanks I have tried reasoning with them - The drivers who actually can be bothered to carry out doing a daily walk round check and filling in defect books are not recording or reporting defects it is just a tick box exercise and when defects are reported the ( Company doesn’t have transport manager - There are no Transport Managers listed on the licence) admin in office don’t act promptly in getting them rectified they simply give vehicle to another driver who doesn’t do any reporting of defects. I was simply asking a question would using the online - Report about a commercial vehicle, driver or company a waste of time ?

Then problem solved for you, if another driver takes out the wreck and you do not have to, what are you gaining by grassing up the company that is paying you your wages? Are you just being spiteful and immature. If the units in question are ilegal then they will get a tug on the road, the driver will also get a fine and points, if you are wanting for this to happen and youfeel good about it, give them a ring. Hope I never get to work with you.

Think you’re mebbys being a bit harsh on the lad tbh mate.
It sounds like a pretty ■■■■ poor firm that wants sorted anyhiw imo, and they ain’t showing him any consideration or respect by trying to palm off a crappy at best and dangerous at worst truck on him, so why should he bother his arse about THEM.
Not sure if I’d go down the route he’s taken myself, I’d maybe just jack and find another job…plenty about.

My take on anyone that grasses up either a company or another driver is spiteful. If you arent happy in a company or do not agree with their policies. Just move on, dont make waves and cause problems that leaves someone in the ■■■■, go for an interview or assesment drive and if you dont like what you see, why go work for them in the first place? Just cannot stand this silly nonsense with sneakily ringing up and complainig.
Sounds like you need to focus on getting a new job.
There’s 2 sides to every story as you all know.
Not sure I would believe a single word from a grass.
