Re Febland Europa

That was the beauty about the old days ;if anyone did you wrong you only had to wait …& then zap 'em.

TIR Original:
Then came the crunch 'cause I then related to him episode 1 and said “You dont tow with your trucks and funnily enough I dont lend spares” and put the phone down.

  they do say revenge is a dish best served cold - perfect example

these trucks in the great pictures you have there, bring back memories.
i worked in and out of novara for about 4 or 5 years.i met tony febland but wouldnt know him now.
at the start of the topic way back, antonella was mentioned.i learned some of my italian off her and would have liked to learn more.
she was zb gorgeous.i left many a trailer in that yard in novara,
does anyone remember aldo the mechanic.i remember the security man in the yard,he that spoke perfect english.we had many whiskies together.
ginnins restraunt, shes dead now,but i am told vito is still alive but well retired.
pierreangelo, who went out on her own as a freight agent, she cursed and swore worse than any english or irish man, also rita who still trades as “the best srl”
i worked for her for a long time, used to have belly tank on the trailer.
they were good days and some fun was had, whatever about the money we made and spent in the pub as quick.
does anything happen in via bovio anymore.
i would love to go there for old times sake as i am back on euro work now and some of our loads are to italy

Is it true that a Febland driver who was descending the French side
of the Blanc in an 88 using his exhaust brake in a very low gear, had a
lock up and engine stall and the truck went over the side?
The driver managed to climb over the engine hump and jump out the near side, breaking his collar bone when he landed.
I remember hearing about it in about the mid 70s.
Or is this just another one of those trucking myths?

I remember Mark with the beard used to drive for them , lived in Blackpool.

Hi Rattlesnake yes it is trure about a F88 240 going over the French side of Mont Blanc in about 1977. The driver i think was called Nick ex army on his first trip to Italy. There were two Febland trucks on the way back from Novara he was following an F89 down the Blanc on the old road before the stilts were built. I think the F98 got away from him and he was trying to catch up but lack of experiance burnt the brakes out. It was just by the steel works when he jumped out broke his collar bone and the Volvo went over the edge loaded with books. The volvo landed on its roof with trailer still on. It was then recovered back up the mountain and stayed in the layby for a while i have some pictures i will post

I dont think the driver did anymore trips to Italy after that Thanks for the message

Thanks Premier, I wasn’t dreaming after all. That driver must have been
bl00dy fit to jump over that engine hump and out the door. What a lucky boy eh.
I thought if it did happen someone on here would know about it and I got see the photo’s too! I thought that it happened in the snow,
the engine stalled on those Volvos if you kept your foot on the exhaust brake but it looks like it may have been summer from the photo’s.
Thanks Mate.
TruckNetUk does it again

Didn’t Febland get in to financial difficulty in the 80’s? I seem to think Allelys bought them out (or offset their debt against the vehicles). We ended up owning a couple of 112s that used to be theirs - B76 BRN and B768 MBJ. Anyone remember■■?

in PREMIERS photo album does anyone know what the blackwater int unit is on the first page, assume its american?

Looks like a Ford .
