Good to see we have Scotch Dave joining the masses and posting some fresh stuff to enjoy.
One of the first real driving jobs was for Bosal doing multi drops everywhere, this picture is at the side of Loch Ness on the return to Preston as i recall my next job was down to Penzance.

Just talking about you, Gareth has just called in. I used to drive for Bosal many years ago,
some multi drops but also the Wigan Trunk which involved running between Walton Summit
and the Bosal warehouse at Wigan. regards Big Al

Does anybody remember RAMSDENS HAULAGE owned by the Latham family who also owned LATHAM’S TRANSPORTERS AND LATHAM’S AUTOBULK. They also owned Crossley House where Ribble Vally Training Group was based. Walter Latham and Billy Latham used to live in Crossley House befor renting out to Ribble Valley. I worked for Ramsden’s in 1965 and in 1966 moved over to Latham’s car transporters till 1973. Ramsdens was also the agents for M.A.N IN 1973 or 1974. I bought a M.A.N and started on middle east with it in Jan.1975. the old M.A.N served me well for a good few years.

Do you remember David Meadows who was connected to Crossley House (was Transport manager for Ainsworth & Martin) he also ran
Middle East in the 70’s. regards Big Al
Hi Big Al
The name doesn’t ring a bell, but I only remember Atkinson’s renting the big warehouse round the back of what was Crossley House Farm. We used to store cars in that building Bond three wheelers and Bond Equipe. Ramsden’s used to run old and new Fodens also a couple of Guy Warriors. Latham’s also had Fodens and later the Atkinsons with 240 8LXB’s.
Regards Edd.

boblad I think the ERF from pandoro was smashed up but cant be too sure paul morris drove its sister motor
B576 was not smashed up! It was B578 that was, down near Luton. We bought it and rebuilt it and I drove it for nine years. A Proper wagon!
Only discovered this site a couple of weeks ago but what a trip down memory lane. I worked at R Atkinson from 1973 to1980 then for Harrisons at Holmes. Took my test at Ribble Valley with Ian Binnie (hed just been given a TM bedford)
One fo the posts mentioned Big Dave Lansbury at Woodsides-sadly he died a few weeks ago.
Someone wrote about George and Malcolm Bradley. I think you worked in the wharehouse before you moved to a parcel firm.
