What dodge? I don’t see migration as a big problem. I don’t like the woolly thinking that surrounds a lot of it, but don’t think it is half as important as many others do.
It is useful tool though:

2 million shortfall on house building?
Blame the thousands of migrants for lack of homes!

Millions under invested in the NHS over years?
Blame the people getting off small boats in Dover!
(apparently they are all fit young of fighting age so really not sure how that works)

Starts at 1-14.
Michal is a steel trap debater with a honeyed voice.

Migration aint a problem in essence.
ILLEGAL migration and the costs involved in dealing and the financing it however is a problem…well it is to those apart from tge raving lefty liberal socialists.
Oh yeah, to those clowns they aint young fit men of fighting age with a dubious history, nor child molestors and rapists…despite the recent events, they are an asset to society…Doctors and Solicitors apparentlly. :joy::joy::joy:

If they are fit young men they aren’t clogging up Dr waiting rooms. Can’t have it both ways. :grinning:

I do agree that illegal migration is a genuine problem.
I also think that there are steps that can and should have been taken to cut it down already.

Setting up an office in Calais to interview prospective migrants.

If successful they can enter and get employment straight away.

If unsuccessful, and they later make an illegal entry?
Fingerprints cross checked and recognised as a reject? Fast track out the country.

It would need to once again employ some officials to check migrants in a timely fashion. Back in the 2000’s we had large numbers entering but they mostly were processed in a few months, not the many months and years it takes now.

In 1999 we had almost the same number of applications, but they were dealt with in a much shorter time.

The water was flowing into the bath quickly, but flowing out quickly too. The level was staying low.
Now water is flowing in quickly again, but only flowing out slowly so the level is rising.

We have few more applications than before, but because there are too few officials now, they stay stuck in the system longer.
Cheaper and better for all to employ more officials, but that is low key and out of sight.

Jeez Frangers that is a desperate attempt even for you.:joy::joy:

There has been quite a lot of (officially hushed up) reports of these scrotes grooming indigenous Brit young girls, rapes in my own home town ffs due to these scumbags…
I have purposely covertly tracked my own 14 yr old granddaughter whilst she passes these hotels on the way to her friends, after her telling me she feels uneasy by the unwelcome attention from these guys that her and her teenage girlfriends attract.

I have even been sat there in my car with a baseball bat doing a Clint Eastwood ‘make my day’ scenario ffs…and to hell with the consequences as far as I am
concerned if the sh hits the fan…as the Old Bill aint intersested.

Why do you feel the need to refute the facts and welcome these pieces of sh.into our country, they contribute nothing and take everything.

Either that, or pointing out the clear logical falacy that fit young men aren’t clogging up surgeries.

I agree that having sick people clogging up the NHS ,or fit young men hanging around the streets are both wrong. Very wrong.

What did you think of my (not original) idea for getting rid of the problem?

Ok to cut the crap between us for a minute I will tell you.

Yep, I think it is a reasonable suggestion.
On the other hand I would just rather we did not let them in at all, maybe not what you want to hear but let me explain.

Let me start with the irrefutable fact that we are a small overcrowded island,.where logistically there is just no more room,…and especially when our home grown indiginous kids can not get houses.

Past occurences have proven beyond doubt that on the whole the majority of these people have little or no respect for our laws and culture,.and they think our daughters and granddaughters are fair sexua1 game, and just there for the taking.

I have been over the issues a couple of times on here concerning both my grandaughter and daughter on this subject, so first hand experience as opposed to someone just talking out out of their arse.

The obvious next thing from those with opposing views I have found, is to accuse me of being racist…Far from it, as anybody who knows me will vouch.
I have actually and even found myself guilty of positive discrimination in the past many times where I have conciously made the effort to talk to and include different races over my own people…
And to add a curveball killer blow…, one of my daughters dated a Kurdish lad about 12 years ago, who came over on a truck.:flushed:
I was not over the moon about it, but this lad was a true gentleman, especially after I marked his card from day 1 to look after my daughter or else.
He used to ring me to say he had got her home safely, and showed her respect…I liked the lad who started his own buissness here and we got on well, but the relationship fizzled out…
So I am fully aware first hand they aint all the same, I am just sick of the hassle in my home city that they cause, and would rather they were turned away after claiming asylum in the first port of call.

Why are the type of MPs who generally represent the majority and their views, are they vilified at the first oppportunity.
These are the type of people who should be in power, but no doubt a link will come up to discredit him.
Yet another reason I am totally disillusioned with the UK political system.

yep… select all group reply… accepted

did we not have a similar system when they were coming on on lorries?? British immigration officers working in the docks but if they didn’t have id all they could do was turn them away.

but lets suppose the french authorities allow us to house them in a secure area whilst their application is being processed. How are you going to speed it up when the slowest factor is getting the information from other countries assuming of course their id isnt false?

Assuming all that and you have taken their finger prints and dna and said here is a job and somewhere to live how are you going to make them stay there so they can be traceable if they commit a crime?

Even if you do find them and the police don’t get accused of racism and harassment and there aren’t national riots because one got shot with half of woolage aresenal next to him how are they going to be shipped back when their country wont take them?

surly it is far easier to say no sorry if you want to come here because you are being persecuted then apply through proper channels. or escape to one of the 10 safe countries that you passed through that are also Muslim or Kurdish or whatever and then apply.

Thanks.
Interesting and a lot in that post.

Ever been to Jersey or Guernsey? Nice places. Much more densely populated than the UK mainland.
Holland and Belgium are also more densely populated. Germany isn’t too far behind either. Area and population of European countries - Wikipedia
We don’t have enough housing? Agreed.
Several reasons for that, but it isn’t all about immigration. Same with the number of Drs and dentists etc.
We do have the land available, much building is held by companies that just sit on it. They make money as the value increases but invest SFA in it.
We do have a housing shortage, we do not have a land shortage.

The figures don’t seem to bear that out.
(I can hear you groaning and shouting from here!) :grinning:
What you see with your own eyes is real, of course it is, but it isn’t everything.

The foreign born and asylum seeker population increases but violent crime stays
the same. Property crime increases for one group (1.1%) but decreases for the other (0.4%).
There is no slam-dunk immigrants are all/mostly violent/thieves.

There is a lot of biased reporting about it.

None of us can ignore the child grooming gangs can we.
Rightly there was a lot in the papers about the Yorkshire gang, mostly Asian men.
Ever hear about this case?

Noted :+1:

Bored broke young men…Cannot work to get cash (and pay taxes) to look after themselves or find entertainment…warehoused for years.
Like I said if they were processed quicker they would not be sitting around for so long. Some will be trouble making ■■■■■■■■ some will,be decent young men.
You’re street savvy: what will happen? The good ones convert the bad? Or…

Turkey has over 10 times the number of refugees the UK does. It is a much poorer country.
Should every asylum seeker from the East stay there?
Should all Ukrainians stay in Poland?

For every complex problem there is always an easy solution.
And it is always wrong

Fitstly I am primarily concerned with my own country, not France,.Germany,.and Turkey, ot anyehere else, of which is as I say a small island.

Yep, but as I keep saying to you,.
I prefer to act and react on stuff I actually see and hear with my own eyes and ears, and what I am told by friends and relatives who I know and trust, both of which have no ulterior motive or axes to grind, than believe and prioritise on official statements, polls,.statistics, opinions, and those who are more than likely to have ulterior motives and hidden agendas,…all of which that are open to some element of falsification and corruption.
There lies one of the (many) differences between me and you.
Not a pop, knock or jibe btw, merely an observation.

No. Not that I know of anyway.
Tell me if there was and I will stand corrected.

The french suggested all of this years ago and I have written about it elsewhere. If you want I may look it up again.

It was done much quicker years ago.
The UK’s asylum backlog - Migration Observatory - The Migration Observatory
Our backlog has been getting worse and is much worse than other countries.
See what I replied above about clearing it to save money and disruption.

Ah the proper channels. Ask an expert. Ask the (then) Home Secretary. https://youtu.be/4hwt2DOZdPs?si=mn7-FQqfg_Vv_Wou

OK, I am not suggesting that you and your relatives are telling fibs about what they see. Not at all.
I know you aren’t saying that, but it does bear repeating.

Do I try to look at the wider picture?
OK. I do and see nothing wrong about that. I also see that some local shops are now owned by Polish when thirty years ago it was Asians.
I remember that in the 60’s West Indians were the foreigners, than after a while they were more or less OK and Asians were the underdogs, now it is more East Europeans, but they are being less looked down on as we have Middle Easterners to blame for everything.

Ten years ago the country would all be fixed if we left the EU.
Now all would be fixed if we stop a few rubber boats.

As Juddian was fond of saying “Oh look! A squirrel”
Keep looking somewhere else but don’t look at what the Gov are actually (or are not) doing.

Do I believe all official statements? No.
I try to cross reference them where i can or go back to the sources.
You won’t be surprised that the same story reported in The Guardian and The Mail will bear little resemblance to each other. Often the reports will be on page 1 of one, and page 8 bottom left of the other.
I know you get that. But it remains true.

cant find something quickly but im sure the issue was that if they didn’t have id with them they couldn’t be arrested

we had the encampment at calais that we paid for and the french police and authorities actively looked the other way every time they tried to escape. the excuse was they were understaffed so we sent more money and security equipment and the issue went on.

years ago we had an open door policy those that did apply disappeared very very few of the applicants that were actually taken home. The other issue is as little as 10 years ago terrorism was a home grown issue (ira birmingham 6 etc) as far as i know the first foreign attack on uk shores was 7/7. I seem to remember there was a big to do because the immigration and the security service knew they were terrorists and lost track of them. Question is why were they given asylum in the first place…

if the stats for a particular crime stay the same 1 of 2 things is happening. either the crime is being ignored ie the police are doing nothing about it and the criminals are carrying on as normal. Or the criminals are being replaced at the same rate as those being sent to prison.

of course with national statistics a mixture of both is possible. you could have areas were the rates are going up because more and more people are being moved there and rates are dropping else where because they are either being shipped out or sent to prison. but over all the rate is the same.

I remember sitting in a queue coming off the m3 for the 308 at sunbry on thames half a dozen people jumped out the back of a lorry. I called the police and 25 minuets later im still on the phone to them arguing about where i was (according to them you couldn’t get off the motorway there) eventually they agreed that you could and would send a unit.

30 min later i have managed to get down to the roundabout and there on the left of the road are the 6 people stood there on the pavement. opposite on the other side of the road are 5 police cars dealing with a 2 car collision with 2 people (both the drivers) i sat there and watched them cross the road and walk right past the police.

“They nearly got away with it this time, but the public are not as uninformed as they were at the last election.”

MODS - Link to new TNUK site - doesn’t work.

Comes up with following error code:

{“errors”:[“You’ve performed this action too many times. Please wait 2 minutes before trying again.”],“error_type”:“rate_limit”,“extras”:{“wait_seconds”:154,“time_left”:“2 minutes”}}

Or the stats show the rate unchanged, because the rate is unchanged

Because criminals are sent to prison, there is no crime anywhere unless criminals move into an area then?

Yes…and…

Hooray !

No.
