Political discussions...

Yeah the lass is definitely out of her depth.
She has been put on the spot by whoever to try and ‘sell’ points that vary between fantasy and untruth, and to deliver official line rhetoric on something she does not know a lot about…aka winging it and blagging it.
But at least she managed to give the obligatory mention of the ‘last government’ but never referred to her ‘black hole’…Matron.:joy:

As for the housing shortage… ,
What a pity there is no builders plumbers electricians and general construction workers amongst all the…‘‘irregular’’ :joy: migrants,…job sorted.

But no chance being that we have been told they are all Doctors, scientists, and solicitors.:joy:

Honestly some of this stuff is amusing, but really this country is becoming somewhere between an embarrasment and a 'kin comedy show.

i guess its fair enough she doesnt know her parties polices she has only been in the commons 8 times since coming to office. farage on the other hand has been in nearly double that about in the last month alone as well as appearing on the international stages

There is a jobs and wages shortage to afford to pay for a house.Because we’re importing loads of stuff that we previously made for ourselves. The estate agent windows are full of houses for sale and rent.
No one will want to live in Starmer’s Urban Soviet style ‘solution’ to the wage crisis.

Incorrect. Houses for sale maybe but not rent. People can’t find houses to rent for love nor money where I live in Nottingham. From what I’ve seen this is a common theme all over the country.

Yep it’s Rob banging on about the freeloaders again.:sunglasses:…you know you love it.

I don’t know about ‘Irregular immigrants’ the ####ers are arriving here pretty regularly. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

I see the BBC news have adapted the lefty limp wristed term of ‘irregulars’ now also.
I found myself knocking the report off in disgust.

Anyhoo…How’s Starmer getting on with…
‘Smashing The Gangs’.

thats a shame it stopped where it did… they will stay here even if their application is unsuccessful

i guess he messed up there and told the truth so they cut it short

They were boasting they had sent over 9000 illegals back,.which tbf to them is good,.and deserves some credit…but more and more arrive daily.

If they just cut the charade and the b/s and acknowledged that the vast majority are not refugees at all, instead of pandering to the leftist lobby, it would be a good start.

Like I said 9000 is good, but it’s akin to baling out the Titanic with a bucket.
Best not to let them in at all…we are full ffs.

Meanwhile in the land of ‘Common Sense and logic’'.

way i read it was 9000 had gone this year which includes those that left voluntarily under the tories rwanda scheme and those that went to ireland under the tories *which ireland are sending back btw"

13,500 since Labour came to power.

No, that person went under Sunak, so isn’t counted.

Again no, the 13,500 were sent to their home countries.

When Eire sends migrants back to the UK it is under an agreement the UK, has with Eire.
We used to be part of the Dublin agreement which enabled us to send some migrants back to the EU. Johnson stopped that agreement when we left the EU under his Brexit deal.

What a video!
Just like the bloke in the pub talking about the footie: “We would win more games if I was Manager”.
“How is that NIge?”
“We would score more goals. Simple as!”

No plan about how to score more goals. No plan about where to deport these migrants to.

Simple?
Anyone who believes in simple solutions to complex long term problems is…

thee is no complex problem we dont want them we dont need them they dont belong here end of.

if you want to join a family member that has come here for legitimate reasons ie genuine work shortage (there isnt any only man made ones) and the relative is in danger through no fault of their own then go to a safe country and apply from there. again a simple solution.

come here illegally get locked up and sent back.

i have said in the past what to do to maintain control of the channel but all the bleeding hearts chastised me.

thats the number they have “processed” ie rubber stamped with no proper checks of any description just to say they are doing something. the 9000 we are discussing was this year and included the hundreds that gave up and went back and the thousands that went to ireland

“Between 5 July and 7 December 2024, a total of 13,460 returns were recorded, most of them voluntary. But the number of enforced returns rose by 25% compared with the same period in 2023.”

So why hasn’t it been solved? If it is so easy, why is it still here as a problem?

The likes of Farage sold the idea that leaving the EU would be simple and would solve all our problems.
It hasn’t.
He is now selling the idea that ending migration is simple and would solve all our problems.
He has been proven wrong before, so why believe him now?

Ahh …so Franglais rejoins the thread of which he used to be the most prominent contributor…and critic.

Interesting to note it is only to comment on something positive that Labout has done (for once)…not much said about all the negativity, lies, broken promises, corruption, and general pi55 poor governance lately though we ALL notice.

He must have been like a coiled spring in anticipation in hope of something he could comment on at last.

But Full marks …and a full house in fact in the old game we used to all play…
Franglaisbingo.:joy:
He got it all in.

Sarcasm and criticism towards the Tories.
Sunak.
Boris Johnson.
The EU.
Rwanda.
The analogy of football in the pub towards me…(.question is has he even been in a pub,or knows one end of a football pitch from the other.)
A knock at Farage…with the usual discredit.
And oh yes…The piece de resistance.
BREXIT.

If he had shoehorned Covid in and (dared to) call me a racist again, he would have qualified for Foxys Jackpot.:joy:

Just like old times…I even found myself checking to see if the Tories were back in power.

See you back here in a few months IF Labour manage to do anything else bordering on ‘Right’ (in varying definitions)

Meanwhile…back to the cluster ■■■■ for the rest of us.
I’ll keep us posted.:joy:

Didn’t help that whoever was in charge of the Tories and their cabinet since 2016 had no desire to make it work because they didn’t want it.

Ironic that something like 9 countries including Germany and the Netherlands have recently closed their borders to migrants in the last few weeks. Last time I checked they were both in the EU and on mainland Europe. Proof that if they can do it then we sure as hell can with us being an Island.

In fairness, if there was anything to criticise these last few months then Franglais would have been all over it in his usual consistent manner.

Are the borders actually closed to migrants? Or is it that more checks are being done?

Irony is a much used and abused term, but I think that counts as such.

The same could be said about most of your links in that they will mostly be formed of opinions. Why do you think your stuff is superior? In fact don’t answer that as we all know the answer.

Either way it just proves my point that successive governments had no desire to stop things here in the UK.

You are of course free to criticise and argue with any, and all opinions …that is why we are here!

Two different things, but never mind:
If you think that the Tories were not trying to control migration, and so stop RefUK Ltd from taking votes, then I disagree.

Still no figures on “smashing the gangs” from gob54ite Yvette Cooper this morning on Kuenssberg, Starmer cosying up to Europe watering down Brexit. I wonder if Starmer understands the meaning of the word betrayal. No need for analyising the previous governments lash ups, they got well hammered in the last election just like this shower will do in the next election.
