To get back to Franglais and his ‘violence does not stop violence’ theory…

He brought up what to do if somebody slaps your face…which in his world could escalate to the use of a gun.:joy:

So I asked what he would do if somebody slapped his face, so I will ask again…

I can only observe, as an ordinary member of the public I have no “clout”.
If Police could be trusted more, I’d support more leeway for them to do their jobs, but I for one have very little confidence in them, as do many others, all based on what we’ve witnessed over the past few years (especially in terms of police attitudes towards women and their use of What’s App groups)

Things will probably need to get worse, people will call for a harder line, and that could usher in a restriction on certain freedoms in order to preserve what the average person wants from society. So we’ll accept a more right-wing solution out of necessity, but that will (due to human nature) go too far, and we’ll probably end up no further forward overall.

I could argue that it’s all not unlike Europe a century ago…

Brass neck…well he was a metals trader once upon a time.

And Colin fro Portsmouth is all confused too…https://youtu.be/tku1YIoxSAQ?si=s-ds4TBNEB2T6l6L

Do you NEVER give f . kin give up mate? seriously

Instead of focusing on a random MP (who you hate) , and a foreign future president…(again who you hate.)…
Why do you not focus on the biggest current political issues, the freeloading, pi55 taking, incompetent and out of touch party, that is GOVERNING your country?..there is ample potential milage on that currentlly

Many other people presently are, so why are you getting all pre menstrual about irrelavant matters?

You needed no prompting this time last year,.and the year before that, and in fact x 14 years, on an almost daily basis on this forum,.reporting and keeping us all up to date with your dissatisfaction and reports on govt matters…mostly negative.
So what has changed?

I also note you have ignored my question on a point that YOU made.
I even took myself out of the equation by re.constructing the question to make you feel at ease, but if you find some points uncomfortable, or even admitting you are wrong against your nature, perhaps it would be better not to get into debates, but instead just carrying on slagging people, political parties and decisions that you hate…not to mention referendums :joy:
It is what we are used to from you after all and it appears to be your speciality.

With the Budget next week a few wise words which in 12 to 18 months from now might just prove a point.

Someone will report your post for “excessive reasonableness”
And, let’s not forget what happened to that author… That’s how the world treats reasonable people. Sadly, it looks to me like the modern age is characterized by extremes at each end of the spectrum

What an absolute merchant banker, squirming away in his attempt to describe who HE defines as a working person and then refering to said working person writing cheques, suprised he didn’t say sausages.

This 100%. Sadly the socialist lefty bedwetters cannot seem to grasp this concept. Put in the simplest form - if you scare off the rich and wealtly then we “all” suffer.

It’s obvious there is not going to be any quick fix.
Apparentlly Starmer has been appealing to rich businessmen and millionaires in a potential very high tax bracket, not to leave the country, as they did when the tax paid by them was ridiculous in the last but one Labour govt… I think it was.

There was a story then of Rod Stewart getting on a plane to live in the US to escape it. On the right was Eric Clapton, to the left was Keith Richards.
With rows of lower profile but wealthy rock stars sat behind them.

I think that ship is starting to sail, speaking of Rod Stewart, his wannbabe look alike multi millionaire and entrepeneur Charlie Mullins explains.

Unsurprisingly I agree with a lot of what he said, (ok not all) but don’t write this guy off and be distracted by his ‘purchased’ appearance (he is 72 yrs old, and good on him) he is self made and started with nothing, so he is no gobby idiot…and perleeeese dont shoot the messenger as usual, by rubbishing the news source.

Sad to see ministers in the run up to the budget saying no tax rises, yet the income tax thresholds have remained the same since 2021-22.

That’s okay then there are no tax rises, we are just paying more tax, that’s all.

Suddenlly Rwands seems to not be so derisory as some on here would lead you to believe.
Another country outsources it’s immigrant problem, which appears to be working.
A tad expensive, but many would say worth it when you consider the crime that it would prevent…even the murder as it now turns out.
After saying that ANY bloody alternative is and would be better than the zero action this sh shower is doing…(or NOT doing.)

Anybody sick of hearing about this yet?

Have I achieved my TN ambition, and surpassed and out bored Franglais with his boreathon Tory and Brexit campaign?

No?

Never fear there is plenty more milage in this.:joy:

I’m on a roll now.:sunglasses:
Warning this post contains news from an ‘unreliable source’ and the mention of a popular activist considered a ‘pariah’ by a few.

So I bet Starmer, his gang,.and in fact the msm, are bitterly disappointed there was no rioting, violence or unrest at the recent… ‘‘Far Right’’ march  (so much so it was barely covered surprise surprise)…
Or to give it it’s proper title the ‘‘Uniting the Kingdom’’ march, …or even as some called it ‘The Tommy Robinson march’.

On the contrary in fact, it resembled the last pre ‘riots’ Sunday march.
Just normal everyday people of all classes, creeds and colours showing their dissatisfaction with the governance of the country in general, and in specific issues.

The only form of ‘aggravation’ in fact, came from the lefty crew…, the ‘Anti fascist/anti racist’ crowd…many of whom had their faces covered by masks.
Apparentlly though they need not have rocked up, no racism was prevalent…what a shocker eh?
.
But no news of any ‘Far Left’ arrests though needless to say.

Pensions = deferred wages.Tax on pension income means those deferred wages are being taxed twice. If not at least at a higher rate than the rate of growth of the fund including inflation.
Council tax means net wages being taxed again after income taxes.
VAT, Inheritance tax, fuel duty all mean further compound taxation of net income.
Less than inflation state pension increases, state pension being reassigned as a ‘benefit’ , means testing of state pension, state pension age eligibility increases, are all a breach of contract just as if it was a private pension provider doing same.

I didn’t explain very well. What I mean is the first £12570 you earn isn’t taxed and then there is another threshold that puts you in the higher tax bracket, which is different depending on which part of the UK you are in.

What I mean is those thresholds normally go up every year, but they stopped that. Most people have had wage increases, so there has effectively been a tax increase, but without actually putting up the headline rates.

That is what they are going on about on some programs about stealth tax.

I just don’t like the ministers saying there is no income tax hike, because there is.

It’s called fiscal drag. The Tories put a cap on the free pay threshold, this shower look like they are going to extend the cap thus dragging more individuals into paying tax / extra tax.

Whatever next? .

Looks truly horrendous.

Looks like a bloke punching another one for summat he said.
The Labour party have suspended him, quite rightly on the evidence seen, and anything else depends on any charges brought, and any defence (I can’t imagine any) made.

Oh sweet Jesus
That don’t look good for the Labour govt.:face_with_hand_over_mouth:
Our very own (ex, and particularly quiet on this thread lately) ) TN political commentator would be all over this like a rash if it had been a Tory MP this time last year.
A supposed respected MP assaulting one of his own constutuents? :flushed:
Surely worth a comment from such an expert.

So now it’s over to me now to condemn this ‘Right honourable’ gentleman, saying he should be above all that, and set an example in his priveliged position, he’s an MP ffs,.a cut above, and me saying how shocked and outraged I am …whilst clutching my pearls.
Nah I aint that twee and naive, I’m different, and I live in the Real World.

He’s a normal bloke off duty from his job, out with his wife and friends, enjoying themselves, maybe had a few drinks…nothing wrong eith all that so far.
But then some absolute balloon rocks up in his face and gobs off… maybe making lewd insults to his wife for all we know.
Good on him for dropping the guy, I would have done the same.

But I bet he regrets it all the same in the cold light of day, and I (kinda) feel sorry for him tbh.

As for the backlash, our very popular PM needs this like a hole in the heed.
More adverse publicity.

On the bright side  …the commentator in the vid (on the unreliable news source ) tells us that Labour only beat Reform by a small no. of votes in that constituency, so another seat for Reform in the by election I would think…surely all the Labour voters there have realised their mistake, and in such a short time.

Edit…Wow I take it back Franglais (rather than delete my post in a vain effort to save face ) Ibwas wrong after all, you have actually surprised me this time.:flushed:
There is hope yet after all.

You will maybe even answer my previous ignored question to you…who knows

And of course not to be believed as first reported by Mail online then broadcast on GB news. Fast tracked through the courts to prison I wonder.

Who has said it is not to be believed?

Even the Fail and GBN are not totally wrong all of the time!

But…who says it was one his constituents?
