I apologise didn’t know you were a import
You got that wrong you’re not the expert
You are either c or w

UK mate.

I can read grammatical English fine thanks, it’s just your version I have difficulty with…but hey, no need to apologise.

And just to add… I have been called both a ‘C’ and a ‘W’ many times tbh.:joy:
It kinda goes with the territory.

That’s a pity good try
It’s plane English nothing complicated any joe sope would understand
Just pretend im sitting beside you in the pub and you have your phone on hand to Google the answer
It might help you

Ok…If ‘joe sope’ gets it, that’s all that matters
Send him my regards btw.

Btw you’re right, not a clue who ‘joe soap’, is give me a minute, I need to Google him.

(Has he gone?
What a bizzare conversation.:flushed:)

He’s a nobody pretending to be someone else just like some people do ( no names mentioning)
Ok you can’t read English, you don’t understand written English you can’t follow conversations in English because you just admit it so you’re a import from a foreign country

So Starmer is distancing himself from his Minister for Transport because she said on TV in an interview this week that P&O are a “rogue operator” and she has “boycotted them for the last two and a half years”. Now you or I may even agree with her but the parent company of P&O is in the process of investing £1 billion in London Gateway port and the owner has taken offence with the comments and threatened to pull the investment. Talks are back on but what an utter shambles given we need all the investment we can get, especially with this £22 billion black hole, (supposedly) that this shower keeps banging on about.

Really the point means nothing to nobody not even to you

Thanks for your words of wisdom, now go away and learn how to string a sentence together that…

  1. Makes sense
  2. Uses correct grammar
  3. Uses correct punctuation

Good night.

What a post, you have one guy who can’t speak the queen English and pretends to be someone else

Another carryfast who’s trying to be part of the pretend opinion of nobody’s

So an investment was “called off” and “reinstated” within,24hrs?..12hrs?
Storm in a teacup.

The Transport Minister, Haigh, did gob off a bit about P&O and the way they treated their employees, and I doubt anyone would defend the way that happened, but although her timing was bad, she wasn’t wrong.
It seems that the investment is going ahead, although formal announcements are delayed.

Who’d have thunk it? Some words didn’t put them off from making an investment they expect to turn a profit on.

Harsh words were spoken by the Tories back in 2022, which resulted in talk of prosecution, talk of stronger laws, and ummmm…errr…nothing.
Haigh was talking of P&O/DP World following as part of new legislation actually designed to stop those sort of sackings happening again.

Not much mention so far about the £24 billion from private investors announced yesterday is there?
Mostly the £1b that has been…umm…kept.

The point of that video, made a couple of days ago. not in pre-history, is that Johnson was talking about, the way Cameron and he chose their Cabinets.
Not a subject I have heard brought up much at all.
The two of them were examples of choosing sycophantes from a small pool of mates.
Since Jenrick has already spoken of only considering Shadow Cabinet Ministers who want to leave the ECHR, we have more of the same in prospect.

Is Johnson a spent force? Irrelevant?
He still has holds some sway out there. Some reckon he is more likely to return as leader of the Tories, some reckon he has more chance than Farage.
In these, frankly bizarre, times it seems silly to write those possibilities off.

:joy:
Ok, ok, …Final word on this, just to save you embarrasing yourself by looking a bit dim any longer…

Yeah, I reckon you’re right, I am basically a nobody in the grand scheme of things, I’ve alrady more or less said that, I only drive a truck like the rest of us…nothing special I would say.
Incidentally who am I ‘pretending to be’ exactly?..‘joe sope’ maybe?.. in your enigmatic mind? :joy:

As for your views on my standard of English, and English comprehension, one of my FEW academic achievements in life was an ‘A’ level in English language, (oral and written) that I had to take as night classes to progress alongside an engineering apprenticeship …as bizzare as that sounds.
So mate 3 words…Pipe and Smoke’.

Nothing whatsoever to boast about, more a case of shooting your argument down in flames.
Bye now.

Was it?

Even the BBC jumped on that one.

And none of the negative headlines for the Government had it been handled correctly.

Old news, history.

And was doing a sterling job until the put her foot in it.

That’s life, are you trying to rewrite history?

True. Bad headlines from a Minister’s gaff. Probably no other damage.

Yes. Yet another example of Tories promising to do summat for workers and doing nowt. At the same time of course Shapps called for a Gov boycott of P&O!

And those new laws should to do so in the future.
As above, probably no lasting damage.

Yep. About normal.
The UK media jumps on a gaff about a £1b contract, and largely ignores the much bigger ones.

Also available in The Times, but by subscription, and there’s more!

The Guardian is a UK media outlet. Reuters is not. And a Gov www is not the media.

How did Telegraph, Mail, Express, react?

@truckpro
You are absolutely wasting your time debating specific political points with Franglais…he is always right, and always has superior knowledge…he thinks.

He has a closed mind, with blinkered opinions, and ignores adverse things that go on around him, in favour of taking up the contrary official line on them…so wasting your time mate.
Everything the Tories do, and now the Reform Party, (that is wrong)…IS wrong.
Where as…
Everything that Labour does (that is wrong)…is RIGHT.

(I could include his Lib Dems but they are largely an irrelavance.)

I also wasted time debating party political points, and about the dreaded ‘B’ word…I cba now.
Also every news and info source (except the ones he provides) is rubbish.

So best to do what I do, cut off his free range before he gets carried away, keep point out that Labour are in fact as bad as The Tories, backed up with links, and continue to remind him of the things I have just pointed out.:grinning:

Firms 'pausing' hiring and investing ahead of Budget - BBC News.
It’s in there.

What about The Times?

Thanks, i’m well aware of that.

Thanks, i’m well aware of that too, there for reference purposes.

So the Guardian did, the Times did, the BBC did, those 3 you mentioned presumably didn’t, so what?

Know what you are saying rr but I find it (sadly) entertaining. As usual he dissects the far end of a fart every single time. My original point about the Transport Minister was just to show how incompetent she was with stupid, crass comments that could jeopardise investment, this on top of all their other negatives but franglais is now at slagging off certain media outlets ffs.
The irony is that itv media were giving the Transport Minister (Haigh) air time to promote the new workers rights and she messed up, class!

Yeah but you need to put a positive spin on to make them appear competent.
