Political discussions...

No they would not, or at least they would have done something equally as disgraceful and appalling.

That is what I have been saying all along, they are all preety much the same, making promises pre election they never keep, and shafting the electorate when in power.
Most of them induvidually just in it for what they can get out of it.

It is just a case of damage limitation when voting, you first find a party that you basically agree with, (instead of this totally ridiculous concept of backing and voting for the SAME crew whatever,) and just hope when they do get in that they stick to basic promises,…and not be as bad as the last shower…
This party has failed there on both counts, and I would never vote for them in their present form.

Are you now telling us that you actually take the Lib Dems seriously?:joy:
Nobody else or at least very few others do.
Voting for them and the likes of the derisory Green party, is a waste of a trip to a polling station.

Why such an attitude? Because they only have 72 seats?

How seriously should we take a party with seats in single figures then?

The Lib Dems do have policies on most everything and seem pretty consistent in those I know of. Not many (any?) of them seem to be living in other people’s houses, either.

I do worry slightly about the deputy PM to be honest. Say if the PM was indisposed for whatever reason, I would be concerned that she would be out of her depth. The trouser suit kind of worsened that concern to be honest. I don’t really want someone in such a high position being that concerned about appearance. If the proverbial was hitting the fan, you want someone that will be rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck in, not wondering what to wear.

The fact Conservative administrations have rule more and for longer than Labour ones since the inception of the state pension and NHS, without abolishing either , proves that the Tories and Labour are shoulder to shoulder on both scams.
Which are all all about minimising wage expectations and wage claims to the advantage of employers profit margins.

YOU questioning people’s attitude? :flushed:

Oooh I appear to have hit a nerve here, has a penny finally dropped?
You keep assuring me you did not vote Labour, so maybe Labour is your second choice…a compromise if you will.

A vision akin to The Burning Bush has just manifested it’s self, a sign…
Franglais is a Lib Dem supporter.:joy:

Jeez that clears up a lot of enigma about you, as well as explaining a lot.
How 'kin slow have I been all these years.:joy:
No I certainly do NOT take them seriously.
You know all the times I have called you a joke on here?
Well the Lib Dems are a far bigger joke…by a country mile.

No. I haven’t ever said that.
I have said that you do not know who I voted for.

If anyone chooses to tell who they voted for, that is fine by me. But we do have a confidential polling system in place in the UK, and I think that is a good thing, and choose to take it as it is.

But what of my question to you?
WHY do you not take the Lib Dems seriously? Is it because they are too small in the HoC?

On the contrary.
She may be fine.
Ok she has lost her way a bit, maybe even sold out some would say, …a bit carried away with authority most definitely.

Wtf has her fashion sense got to to do with it…a tad sexist. (no offence, but much less offensive than racist :joy:) would she be better suited walking around like some dowdy old frump?

My Mrs is a very smart and fashionable woman (I DARE NOT say high maintenance :joy:) and I would rather she had my back than some pathetic excuse for a men that some of em are (mostly woke lefties…sorry couldn’t resist :joy:)

I aint a fan as such, but at least she is able to empathise and relate to her class, unlike the likes of Sunak and even Starmer as it has turned out,…tge class for her party’s reason to be.

She has seen a bit of life, a state school education, relatively rough upbringing and pregnant in her teens (afaik) and brought up on a council estate…nowt wrong with that either btw, worked in a factory,.and an ex Union rep in that factory.
Sounds like the ideal Labour Leader to me…even if Starmers ‘old man was a toolmaker’ :joy:

Too left wing, and the word Liberal says it all.
A wasted vote, and as I said a bit of a joke…Thorpe, The Jock alki, and Paddy Pantsdown all exacerbated that joke btw

Ok they got into govt through the tradesman’s entrance (not another reference to Jeremy Thorpe btw ) during the coalition with Cameron, which was another joke in it’s self, especially that drip.who was deputy PM who made even Gordon Brown look competent.
But the biggest ever joke was said by the leader (who’s name escapes me) when he said quite seriously at his conference
‘Go home and prepare for Government’.
I think even Screaming Lord Sutch was offended and a bit miffed that day.:joy:

But hey if you follow them and vote for them,.each to his own and all that.

But as for your stance on non favourite party disclosure, and who you vote for, and despite me keep asking you in a tongue in cheek way…
Shhhh  I need to break it to you in a whisper.

Wait for it.

Nobody actually cares…so dont make a pearl clutching drama out of it.

Which means that you won’t be mentioning it again? I won’t hold my breath.

So, if a vote for a party with 72 seats is a waste, how would you describe a vote for a party with 4 seats?

Rest assured mate, now you have confirmed that it annoys you.
I will be constantly asking you.:grinning:

Okay, so now you want to say it is important they are dressed well, but at no expense to anyone but themselves I take it?

You seem read up on her, wikipedia? Anyway, I just don’t see her as a ‘big beast’ in politics.

If Nick Clegg or Dominic Rabb had turned up in an extravagant outfit I would say the same thing, so not sexist.

4 seats?
Hmm I wonder who you have took the opportunity to knock THIS time.
And what you unsucessfully attempted to steer me towards.

I would answer that by looking at in a ‘acorns and mighty oak trees’, and ‘very early days’ way, and how they have come on in such a short time…a shorter time in fact that it took Starmer to make his present utter balls up.

And a hope that proportional representation may come into being if the main 2 parties stop getting in the way…this time it will be ME not holding my breath
(Btw you and the Lib Dems should hope not )

As for a description…ok
A Party who is in touch with what a hell of a lot of people think, and what they are totally pi55ed off with.

Certainly more in touch with the working class way of thinking than the Labour Party,.despite the social background of it’s leader.

And THAT is how you interpreted it? :flushed:
Ok.

No I meant as I said,… that the fact she chooses to dress in a fashionable way has nothing to do with her potential leadership qualities…and ignoring the fact that she apparentlly dresses well because all her clothes were bought by Ali (Lord not Comical/Franglais btw )

Yeah I’ve read a bit about her but no more than most…so what’s your point?

And you do not think that Clegg and Raab wear top notch quality suits? …seriously ? :joy:
They are MPs ffs, I would say without fear of contradiction that they are more 'Made to measure Saville Row than ‘Off the peg Primark’ …just a hunch like.:joy:

So if Rayner had paid for the suit herself, all fine and dandy then? Ok, now I see where you are coming from.

Jeez man are you being deliberately obtuse now or what.
Where tf did I say that’? :flushed:
Again no offence, but your powers of conversational comprehension are way off today.

I would expect everyone no matter who or in what profession to buy their own things out of their own money. Perhaps I’m being old fashioned but I use a thing called wages to buy what I want/need.

Well, they are ministers and have the corresponding salaries, but backbench MPs do not have such high salaries. If you think that your typical MP is going to Savile Row, don’t think so.

Anyway, I did not think you would be wanting to get such high mileage out of a throwaway remark, but life is full of surprises.

Cue…. What about police uniforms, what about fighter pilots G suits blah blah blah.

Scam? Is this a special over-the-top-effort of weirdness because it’s Sunday?

We British Earth people love our NHS. Just as well this isn’t your home planet isn’t it? So you don’t really have to be concerned about terrestrial things like the NHS
