Political discussions...

From what I hear he sponsors and donates a lot to the club, a club he loves (although I fail to see a connection.)
A giving sort of guy in comparison to a freeloader taker like Starmer.

Ironically the Falklands are at war with us over the oil ban issue. They probably now have more in common with Argentine energy policy.

Why? Other than point scoring (which apparently you do not do ) I am not sure what you are hoping to achieve from your constant harping and whining on the subject. It’s happened and constantly trying to prove it was wrong on a lorry drivers forum won’t change anything.

Personally I was very neutral on the whole Brexit thing. I thought both sides had the potential to have good and bad about them. I agree with you 100% that Brexit in it’s current form has not necessarily been a good thing. But I also don’t believe whoever the government of the day has been since 2016 has had any desire to try and make a success of it, largely because none of them clearly wanted it.

Factual & impartial or just opinions from your beliefs? I notice you are very quick to dismiss anything that does not fit with your narratives - how do you know these aren’t “factual”?

And the UK/USA base remains.

“The United States welcomes today’s historic agreement between the Republic of Mauritius and the United Kingdom on the status of the Chagos Archipelago.”

Look at what you just quoted.

Johnson is out and about touting for his new book “Unhinged”.
I will not be paying any of my hard earned to read it.

Although the BBC’s Kuenssberg has ensured that she will not be putting any questions to Johnson, ITV have interviewed him.
Some good questions put but not correctly followed up IMHO. I would have liked to see Emily Maitlis or Mishal Husain sitting opposite him.

Truth? Please tell me you posted that tongue-in-cheek.
You don’t find “The Truth” on YouTube.

Here’s a link to the gold-standard of independent news reporting worldwide
https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/

It’s media via radio that just happens to be put on you tube, not solely a You tube channel to be pedantic.
As I said just because somebody does not like a particular news source, does not necessarily mean that what they are reporting, particularly in that example, aint accurate.
I get the Reuters reputability reference though tbf.

I won’t be buying the latest book by Paul Hollywood telling us of his baking exploits on Celeb bake off, cos like you with BJ I cant stand him nor what he does…which is why I have not felt the need to comment on it.

Whilst this is true, it is also true that the inner pages of The Daily Sport and The Sunday Sport may not have been full of lies.

However, due to their front page regularly displaying deranged nonsense that even CF would not put forward, I never bought, borrowed, stole or otherwise laid my hands on this rag, so I cannot honestly say whether it was, or not, full of lies.

My approach to GBN is similar: If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck…

sunday-sport

For younger TN members, this is not a meme: This was a genuine UK “newspaper” available from the stands at your local newsagent/corner shop

Now that we’re giving back the chagos islands, for the first time the sun will actually set on the British empire

I think the Sport was unique tbh, comparing that to GBN is a bit like comparing Butlins with Auschwitz, both camps but entirely different.

I feel very similar about the BBC , I know it aint a news show, but any co who passes a script for a kitchen sink drama, that has the line…‘What sex baby are you hoping for, boy, girl, or non binary’'. needs binned,.especially when we pay for it compulsory.
Different departments, I know, but same co ran by… those sort of people, lefty woke bed wetters,.who annoy the crap out of me.

GBN don’t produce soaps or drama, so your Butlins vs Auschwitz comparison is valid here too.

I’m a fan of specific parts of the BBC, but just because I think R4’s Today programme is essential daily listening, doesn’t mean I watch any of their popular appeal TV shows (Eastenders, Strictly and other [IMO] excrement)

I know that you like your diametrically opposed views, here’s another one on the islands. I’ll not quote the source save to say I copied this from an ex mil site and it was posted by a very senior and still serving army officer

The Chagos Islands Military Base.
Handed over for free by civilians who know nothing about Military tactics. They say we have a 99 year LEASE on the base, they won’t say how much this will cost each year, only that it will be index linked.
I personally believe the Chinese will Buy the islands. They will set up a military base on one of them. They will then claim the sea and air space around them.
For their military base they will declare it a secure area, making it a no fly no sail area.
Good one Starmer, we now own a base we can’t resupply or go in or out of. But I’m willing to bet the Chinese will still want the lease fee for 99 years.

Well I would be somewhat surprised if the Tory and Labour UK Govs had not spoken to the UK military, and equally surprised if the US State Department had not spoken to their military.

Having bases everywhere one wishes is all fine and dandy of course. Even if it is in someone else’s country. The legal inhabitants of that country might see it differently however.

I was referring to the articles that you continually post under the guise of being impartial & factual, not you actually saying that you are impartial yourself.

If any articles I link to have statements that you, or anyone else, disputes the truth of, then you or anyone is of course free to say so.

Impartiality?
An ideal that some writers etc strive for, but maybe not often achieved.

You mean like the Chinese naval base in Darwin.
