is there such a thing as police having a marker on a car,in the last month ive been pulled 3 times, stop check, running a red light [ i didnt],driving gave them cause for concern, ive not been done for anything, just allowed to continue on my way,i aasked the last copper who stopped me if he was targeting my car,was there any kind of marker on it ,he denied it,3 times in a month seems alot to me,or are they just stopping more cars than ever
Remember your recent incident regarding your girlfriend and car insurance?
There you go then, that’s your answer.
Yes, for example if you get stopped and they find drugs then they will note that on there ANPR system, everytime your car goes through a ANPR camera it will flag up on there computer that the vehicle has been involved with drugs and the coppers might stop you and search your car, same goes if they find stolen goods and other various things
Dyfed Powis police did it to our car whilst on holiday in their area in 2009. They actually did it out of spite because I would not tell them who I was which upset them no end!
The next day we were stopped as they had put an ANPR stop on the registration…as i wasn’t the driver of the car, they still didn’t find out who I was Numpties the lot of them
Maybe your working too many hours hence the erratic driving.
yes a sort of marker can be put on cars for many things even for things like car used for anything illegal even street racing can put a marker on the car…and if you have ever been driving without insurance and got caught same applies for no road tax then a marker can be put on your car

no switch , as i say i spend most of my day doing anything but working , mostly sleeping[hope stobarts arnt reading that
],so i can claim it was tiredness can i
.
the reason my driving was not to his liking was the fact hed followed me for about 4 miles about 2 inches off my bumper,
,i wondered what was going on, it was 2 a.m so eventually i got ■■■■■■ off [so brake tested him] not the best idea when its a copper, but i didnt know that ,thought it was some idiots on way home from pub ■■■■■■■ about.all i could see was two light in mirror
i explained all above to copper but said id hit brakes as i was paniking what was going on,car 2 inches off bumper had got me worried, said o.k and sent me on my way.
my own feeling was he was trying to goad me into flooring it to get away, then do me

i think youve hit nail on head coffee, im hoping they get board off it, or else ill have to change car
I hate it when someone sits close behind me - even in a truck. The trick is to just go slower and slower 'till they get fed up and overtake.

Numpties the lot of them
Why would you do that? If you don’t tell them who you are, how do they know you have the owners permission to have the vehicle, how do they know you’re insured to drive the vehicle or even have a driving licence?
Seems to me you were trying to cut off your nose to spite your face.
As well as the ANPR markers, I’ve seen coppers round my way physically marking cars.
What they seem to do is cruise round the local pubs, and any car that has been parked across the road, or in the car park near the road, they put a little reflective disk (about the size of a 2 pence) on the rear number plate. I can only assume that if their headlights pick out this disk on a car they’re following, they know that car has been parked at/near a pub for a while.
I often leave my car at the pub if I’ve had anymore than 2 pints (I live 200yds away), and have found 2 or 3 of these little disks, usually around christmas time

The coppers probably read TruckNet and are worried that the driver is ■■■■■■ on cider

because the story is pants
he would’ve got nicked and taken to a police station nearby to obtain his details that way. So he didn’t get “sent on his way” without them knowing who he is etc etc etc
Police can also stop a motor vehicle without having to have a reason for it as the car is on a road

good idea though
I,ve also witnessed the police placing these reflective markers on vehicles, a few years ago i used to drink in a pub in gornal area of midlands, spills meadow, we used to drink past the hours and a couple of times the police tried to do the landlord for this but got nowhere, anyways one night we watched a traffic car park up and a copper come across and put these reflective things on, same happened following sat night so we kept an eye out for the next time, when it happened a 999 call was made saying someone was breaking into the cars on the car park, wether traffic communicated with the local bobbies i dont know but the place was swarming with police within 5 minutes, hilarious at the time

It does sound like he wasn’t driving the car both times when stopped, so they have no legal reason to know who he is if no crimes have been committed,so unlikely to arrest you for not giving your name, but they can if they wanna be a (zb) with you

I do not condone drink driving in any way but isn’t this illegal what the boys in blue are doing? Surely they are altering the number plate by placing a reflective disc on it? They are giving the driver a legal loophole out there if their lawyer is good enough…
Rat.

AFAIK it is an offence to fail to name a driver/passenger when asked by the police, and they can and do arrest you and take you to the station to ascertain your identity.
