Does anyone know why this plastic roll is attached to the back of the rigid tipper?
I’m not sure of the firm, but was following it through Aylesbury this week.
It’s for the driver to use when he has a dump in the tipper body while next to a double decker bus. He uses it to wrap the crap up. Hope that helps.
An ebay sheeting system, £1.99p
Thanks Cosmic. My phone won’t rotate when I upload pictures.
I like the eBay sheeting system idea.
It is a Greggs lorry, mobile sandwich maker.
I would say depends on what’s being tipped. Used to cover the load it cement / concrete or tarmac to prevent water entering.
My first answer wasn’t entirely correct.
It’s actually to wrap a few layers over the number plate to make it difficult to identify the vehicle when filmed by a dash cam warrior as it overtakes a dawdler on a roundabout. True story.
No need for a roll of carpet, to roll up a dead prostitute , use cling film.
It’s actually a roll up tent
It allows the double manned crew from Flipflopbogdanistan to do 26 weeks away from base whilst circumnavigating the no weekly rest in a cab rules
My guess is its an offal wagon, and the driver has to take cover under a shield of cling-film while tipping blood and sh-t everywhere.
They usually have rolls of plastic sheet on ready mix mortar trucks, to line the mortar bins before they fill them, but that does’nt look like a ready mix mortar lorry, so actually I dont know what it’s for

They are for mortar, the vehicle will probably have side discharge valves. The plastic roll are bags, they are to stop the mortar “going off” in the tubs by slowing down the rate of water evaporation. It’s a great idea but try to discharge into a tub when there is the slightest breeze, it’s bloody impossible!!! Most mortar truck drivers usually just cover the tub with the bag. I had a mixer on mortar a long time ago, (Tarmac) we were always being warned that we would be charged for the material if it went off, I was never penalised in the 5years I ran the vehicle. if you look at the bottom of the tailgate it looks like a discharge shute running across the back 2 hydraulic hoses running to it, so I guess its for concrete or the like to put on the ground?
It’s a liner for carrying clay saves cleaning the body out .
its for dyslexic cyclists that cant read the dont undertake me sign so that theres no blood and snotters on the truck, and to keep them from having a cold bum when everybodys waiting for the ambulance to arrive and scrape them into a stretcher.also handy in case he passes someone broke down in a remote area so they can tear a bit off,use it as a somewhat makeshift waterproof poncho, and walk into the woods for a mile or 2 out of harms way, similar to what the hato cabbages advise when your waiting on the m/way.

Thanks for all the replies. My first thoughts were that it was either used to line the bed, or to provide either a plastic area to tip onto, in order to protect the ground where it is being tipped, or to cover the load once it has been tipped.
Hopefully I will see it again and get the name of the company.

Can you confirm this?
If not, it’s a rumour, and could damage the reputation of the firm concerned. If so, you’ve broken your own forum rules and your post must be deleted .

That got debunked on Mythbusters, nothing works to disguise the number plate from speed cameras
