Would you mind posting these pics a bit faster Dan, that way I can get a notification as they appear elsewhere without having to watch this page! Lol

One photo is in longcliffe STC403M ,not sure about the other, who’s the owner ? Is the bottom lorry the kilnsey crasher ? Bonkey Dollocks ?Well spotted mate, the bottom AEC IS the Kilnsey crasher which ended up upside down at the bottom of the quarry approach road. Here’s the original thread with pics: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=80463
I was once told the operator but the name slips me mind right now. Interesting he called in at Longcliffe for a load, possibly a back load back up his way.
VCH211M is that a Derbyshire registration ?

It sure is Dan, Regards Larry.

R, RA, RB and NU were Derbyshire County Council registrations. CH and RC were Derby City registrations, until the 1970’s, not sure if it was 1974 when they all became Nottingham registrations.

Hi “Fodenfan”, IIRC It was 1975 when the DLVC, Opened up In Swansea & the new type log books came into force, Regards Larry.
We used to back load gravel out of Croxden up to Middleton by Wirksworth in the eighties, a mauling route for a 201 Gardner powered eight legger with virtually no chance of hitting top gear anywhere!
Pete.
Driving from Leek towards Ashbourne on Sunday, I caught sight of several old and derelict-looking Fodens in the back garden of a bungalow in the hamlet of Bottomhouses - next door to the Smithy garage. Anyone else seen them?
I recall from my tipper days (many years ago) this bungalow was home to the owner/driver of a Foden 6 wheel tipper which used to live on the drive at the side, but I think that was too long ago to be connected with these.

Dan is this the Quarry just by Lord Freehay’s premises?
That deffo looks like Croxden, as it was. The weighbridge is just to the right of the pic, with the plant further down and opposite. I reckon the corrugated iron building behind the parked lorries was Jock’s Cafe.

Mr Salisbury, he had several Fodens. He is long gone but his lad has them now I believe.

One for Pete,
Driven from new by Dave (Pup) Robinson from Hartington and worked from Ballidon quarry. I think that had the Gardner 230 in it, the only one we had, and I reckon that Dennis Bond later purchased it as his first lorry.
Pete.
Eddie Kay ,anyone ?
Iam sure someone was asking for midland storage?
For Kennybear .
On friden weighbridge
