I remember when that quarry was first started in the late 1970’s, they temporarily diverted the Fenny Bentley/Grangemill road while they dug the feeder tunnel underneath it from the ‘old’ quarry where the fixed plant and weighbridge is situated. They also have another quarry above Ryder Point on the Brassington/Wirksworth road.

Good old Bob Sellers stayed with his tried and trusted secondhand Fodens while his ex partner Tony Kent went for a brand new fleet of articulated tanks, cant remember now whether they were Scanias or MAN’s that he bought?

A few Sellers Fodens from Ilam, Derbyshire.
Sellers and kent used to deliver limestone granules to mill in wolverhampton with S80 fodens with 180 gardeners in,when they switched to ■■■■■■■ engines the drivers reckon they was doing an extra days work a week cos the journey times were faster

Yes - tipped over on site the other day apparently – he is fine but the Foden is a little bruised!
Does any one remember Midlands Storage from Cromford , they did alot of lime to the various steelworks , those in S Wales as well , had mostly ERFs . thank you Trevor .

Is midland storage the same as those Clarke tankers from Muggington ? Come on mike/ thelongdrag shed some light on it.
