Peak District.

The trailer was a tandem with a crane frauhauf u shape body ,the steel body was built and fitted by Trent Bodies ,my dad cut the axles off ,added a 3 rd axle and reset the spaceing for 38 tonne operation, the marathan ended up at Harpur Hill at Eric Williams ,although I think a lot of the bits where used by Naylers from bakewell on their Red marathan.

Great photo of the Dodge John, I notice it has 10 stud wheels on the front axle, I wonder what engine it had in, A Leyland perhaps ■■, The one I drove just had 8 studs & had a Perkins 6354 Engine, Regards Larry.

My Dad had one with 10 stud wheels Larry(thats how I know its a D309 and not the D308 which had the 8 studs) and his had the Leyland 370 engine fitted cracking motor in its day.

A few of Beeson & Sons of Hadfield nr Glossop.Look like they have done their graft and now finished with :frowning: ,all parked in the yard just waiting for someone to save them and restore. (I wonder)The ERF & Leyland Constructor are both tippers,The DAF 85 looks like it may have had a tipper body fitted at one time, not sure though.

NIce one John - I have looked through the gates before but never been in the area in opening hours!
