I might go up Dan if the weathers something like !

Save us a space at Darley Dale, it will be a long walk this year for tea at the Square & Compass though, are the three wise monkeys going Mr Askey, Oppo & Holland?

Hi Tipit
Re the Tarmac pic.If it says it was taken around the lancaster area it could have been 1 of 2 Quarrys.1 Leapers Wood 2 Dunald Mill both were in the Carnforth Area.

First class photos John thanks pal

Just read through this thread again and cannot understand why these three photos havent been added by Tipit (Paul) the lad who started the thread in the 1st place.Photos of his dad when he worked for Thomas Lamb who were regulars around Buxton and Chapel during the 50s/60s and also two motors he had when he became an owner driver.

This series of pics were taken at Topley Pike in 1977.

that green and yellow scammel under the plant looks like one of the grin quarry motors , they were painted in limmer and trinidad colours when tarmac took them over . when grin had them new they had super singles on the drive axles , horrible ride and skittish in the wet .
