Accident in Hayfield one morning in the early 70s. Wagon loaded with tarmac from Eldon Hill ran away in the centre of Hayfield on the old road.

I drove a Ford six wheeler tipper very similar to that one for C M Philpotts of Kington.Didn’t hit anything with it.

Yes Sam he says it was the same man on the plant at Big Hole at 3am as it was late in the afternoon .
Called in on Rob Hadfield today and he kindly let me take a few photos of his motors.These are just a few including two new 13 plate DAF xf which he is putting on the road next month I have also put some more on the photo thread.I must say I did not realise that he had so many motors and his depot setup is supurb.

Next time I am over Dave, cheers. Where abouts are you from Hadfields then.I came back down to the lights at Dove Holes and carried on to go over the bypass to Hayfield towards Glossop.

Poor old Keith has been gone a while now.
dead right as usual bonkey , i was actually parking my lorry in lathams yard when keith passed away , but i didn’t live here then , it was a sad loss , far too young to go like that . cheers , dave

This is from an advert for Kays of a Wirksworth Road Transport Dodge, never seen any photos of this firm.
i recall those days of hulland products , flags loaded against the headboard with one rope across the back . most of brassington must have flagged their back yards with what fell off going up the hill towards longcliffe . cheers , dave

Still going aren’t they Dave? I never heard of Wirksworth Road Transport until tonight,were all their wagons in Hulland livery?
Used to run with lumbago out of the pike and hindlow great bloke had many a good sat night out with him and his wife, it was a shame
