PAUL GEE's PHOTO COLLECTION (Part 1)

Dean B
Good morning,
Re:Illtyd Thomas/Malopian. They were based in Swansea not Llanelli. Neath to Poole and back was a piece of cake for them. In fact they were sometimes known around here as ’ Illegal Thomas '. Good old days ?
Regards, Allan.

Dorset:
Graham’s still about I must try to catch up with him.
Mike Jones from Whitemoor near Holt had the timber business.
Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures

You will have to ask him if he has any photo’s ■■

I can remember being told a story about this Volvo F88 being loaded on Poole docks with grain in one of the taller scrap bodied tipping
trailers. I am sure it was one of Dave’s sons who was not very experienced . Anyway he popped it on Christopher Hills weighbridge and it
weighed something crazy like 45 tons on 4 axles.  Mind you, you were paid by the ton !

The Lambert artic from Southampton reminds me of Les Fuge RIP, Les was a Night Trunk driver with
Robert Baillie, based at Horndean, and his Atkinson artic, reg No 5505 ET, was the first vehicle that
I drove for the company, early 1970. His brother, John Fuge was also a Night Trunker for Baillies.
In later days, Les joined Lamberts, and as far as I know, remained with them for many years.

Thanks for the info Ray ,there was another company called Kammac years ago but they went pop back in 1988.

I dont tend to keep upto date with modern companies but i am sure i read that Lamberts had been taken over.

Lamberts are now part of Kinaxia
who own about 10 uk transport companies Kammac foulger maidens AKW mark Thompson to name a few

We all are Dean (see the Feedback thread :unamused: ). I’ve discovered, however, that if you ignore the time-out warning and just let it run, it still loads in the end.

Pitter Brothers also run the Iveco/Magirus Deutz dealership in Southampton.
