PAUL GEE's PHOTO COLLECTION (Part 1)

Thanks for the snippet about the Ferrymasters vessel the MV Elk when i was on traction for Ferrymasters most of the work was for that shipping route, nearly all trailers then were the spread axle tandems on the Scandinavian routes.
Meant to put on the original mail that the vessel that did Gdyania/Teesport/Tilbury was owned by Polish Ocean Lines and in both photo’s it is there containers on the vehicles. It was a nice job as it was mostly just imports at the time, very rarely were there any exports, as at that period Poland didn’t have the economy that it has now.

Heres a bit on the Scammell 100 ton motor.

The kind of stuff I love, once more! Were the two monsters fitted with proper pneumatic tyres at the end of their lives? It would certainly have eased the pressure on the tarmac. Thanks.

I dont think it did have pneumatic tyres fitted.

If you like Scammells here’s a lovely Scammell Constructor 6x6 of Sunters that was brand new and seen here on a roadtest in 1955.

Some more construction pics of the Fleetsbridge roundabout and fly over in Poole in the 1970’s.

Click on pics to improve the quality.

This pic is taken from the road that goes to Creekmoor and the Upton bypass.

The next two are the roundabout.

Looks like pile driving for the foundations of the flyover.

A shot of the Old Wareham road when it was single lane. Think they brought the tar mac laying machine in a bit early on the LHS. :unamused:
Road on the RHS goes into Nuffield Trading estate.

Michigan loading shovel.

Raymond Brown Caterpillar scraper.

Hi Dean yes the Elk survived the Falklands war she sailed down with the Canberra apparently. She came back to Teesport on her usual route until around 2000. Then was owned by DFDS Tor Line as the Tor Baltica. Came to her end of life in 2011 when beached in India and cut up for scrap.

Hi Dean
Steve Keens yard was where Dave Mouland is now I believe,on the A31 just before the Boundary Lane roundabout westbound. I think the ground is owned by Mr Compton

Hi Dean bottom one is sparkys he now working for gerry jones transport and the top is Clint

Thanks for the info chap. India seems to be a bit more relaxed about health and saftey when you see the way they scrap them on
the beeches.

Tor line was formed in 1966.
