They are still going, around a 100 trucks now, I think they are celebrating their 50 years in business, but they are not from Irun, but from Caudete, hence the name, a village between Albacete and Allicante
transportescaudete.com
Edit: they are part of the french Olano group now
This info and pictures regarding Caudete S A reminded me of my first overland trip to Spain, early in 1992.
Within 40 miles of leaving Santander, I was in a blizzard driving through deep snow. From Burgos and beyond
the weather became a bit easier, and by the time I passed through Madrid, the temperature was in mid 70s
fahrenheit. South of Madrid near Ocana, I turned South East and crossed the La Mancha Plain and parked up
for the night near to Albacete where Caudete was based. My destination was Mojacar in Almeria Province,
a total of 595 miles from Santander. I sailed from Plymouth on " Duke De Normandie " because the the regular
ship, " Bretagne " was away on its annual refit at Brest in Brittany, but was back on its route when I got back
to Santander a few days later. Pictures 2 and 3 are heading South beyond Burgos, pictures 4 and 5 are on the
way back with about 120 miles still to go, and picture 6 is at Santander waiting to board " Bretagne ".
The date at the bottom of picture 6 is wrong, it should show 1992. Click on it for full image.

“steam” Sorry was on about Swanworth Quarries. Dont know what happened to them, remember going to there quarry at Worth Matravers as a kid
in my grandads trucks. Use to load you with stone and up the steep hill out of the quarry onto the weight bridge. If you were overweight they had
an area where you tipped the excess off. Seem to remember they were very hot on the gross weight being right.
