Afternoon Dean.

When I worked in Reading we used to service the fleet of BMC FGK 60’s that J. Marr had based at their Hook depot, they were rather smelly!Pete.
Any Transport to do with fish is bad news chap.

Thanks Dean. It shows just how important Leyland was in that era as an engine manufacturer. Makes you want to weep and throw in AEC and Gardner as well and at the lower end Ford (built in UK). I guess the USA but UK sold plant was Leyland for the market? Perhaps Detroit or ■■■■■■■ in the USA?
Indeed Pete, back in the 50s,60s and 70s huge numbers of trucks and engines were exported all over the world. You only have to look
at the articles i have posted in the past under odds and sods. Will pop some engine stuff on tomorrow.
Kempston:
Day Aggregates are a big concern Dean with depots all over the south east.
Thanks “Kempston” cant say they ring a bell with me but thanks for the info mucker.

Found the article and it was a mixed review. The last part sums up the Leyland empire at that time. The so called new Octopus was perhaps, at the decade end, where it should have been a decade earlier.
Thanks

Have a look at page 374 as there is a really intresting Leyland Motor Group brochure that you will find intresting.
You mentioned engines before and alot of manufacturers like Leyland,Aec,Foden,Bedford, etc built engines for
there vehicles and also for industrial use.
