tyneside:
"ramone"Barnfather were blue motors , they had lots of F7s , they had a depot at the side of the A1 on the big industrial estate at the Durham turn off

That F7 with the tank could be a Barnfather from Durham, they did a lot of work for Thorn and the Thorn logo is on the side of the cab.

Originally known as Barnfather & Wilkes they started in the fifties and were based in Littletown a village to the east of Durham City.
They then moved a couple of miles closer to Durham to a large yard in Sherburn Village. (now a housing estate) Not sure if they moved to the Dragonville Ind Est and changed the fleet colour to blue before or after the takeover, which as previously mentioned ended badly.

Tyneside

Thanks for the info Tyneside.

A friend of mine drove for Barnfather and Wilkes for many years until they called it a day, he said it was a brilliant company to work for. He was based at Leeming where he still lives. He spent two weeks delivering Tilcon Perlite in Germany and they looked after his wife and family while he was gone.

Hello Dean a nice mixed batch of pictrues again i think this Hall Aggregates constructor is the truck my friend now owns who is based in tilbury in essex Tony Gothard had a fleet of ex Rmc tippers and they were going to be used for the film work Hell drivers but sadly didnt happen due to heath and Safety and plus the low emission zones in London and other parts of the couteys a great shame really as a group of us was looking foward to it going head Daz

That rings a bell Daz. Pretty sure there was something about him in one of the magazines, which i think i have but not scanned and no idea
what magazine it was in. :unamused:
Hi Dean i will try and find that magazine with Tony Gothard fleet of Hall Aggregates Constructors in there which were all up running and ready for the Helldrivers film work

You are correct, they ended up running Scania’s, I was going to buy one of the Scania’s when they packed up but can’t remember if they went to auction or a dealer bought the lot.

Hope everyone has a good Christmas and New Year, well as good as possible under the present circumstances, looking forward to following Paul and Dean’s excellent thread, this thread and Oily’s are the first two I visit. Keep up the good work chaps and stay safe.
