Anyone know where the Hill’s Aggregates Leyland Constructor is from ■■?

I don’t know much about them but I’m sure Hills Aggregates were a Dorset firm,
I’m sure they opened a bagging plant near Dorchester, on the road out of Dorchester to Crossways

Thanks for the input “boardo96” . Cant remember a bagging plant along there chap but you could be right. Can only remember quarries
along that road, but to be honest not a road i used alot.

Re the Hills aggregates Constuctor, I am petty sure that Hills are originally from Swindon. They still do aggregates from pits around the South Cerney area and have a waste disposal site at Purton. I think have a depot at Kintbury as well.

Thanks alot “Suedehead” good stuff chap.

extrucker:
Van Bentum are based in Woudenberg just round the corner from WSI models who have modelled some Van bentum trucks.

Morning chap’s,

Anyone got any old “Motor Transport Papers” knocking around. I am after them from the 70’s,80’s and 90’s.

PM me if you have any.

Heres a pic of a folded one. They were like a newspaper and not to be confused with the Commercial Motor magazine.

Exonia from Exeter specialised in boat transport. Popped an article on about them on page 317.

Click on pages twice to read.

Some oldies.

Cant honestly say i remember much about the Dennis Delta.

Morning Dean,
Don’t know whose the mixer is but the “bit” at the front is a hydraulic pump driven off the front of the crankshaft to power the drum, Cheer’s Pete

Hi Buzzer a couple more pics of the same truck.

I am not certain of the registrations of both the AEC motorcoach and ERF KV lorry since, with respect, the
photograph is not crystal clear. However,I can make an educated guess of the AEC motorcoach’s
registration  since it is one of Black & White’s AEC Reliance SDF 194 to SDF 203 batch, though I do think its
one of the SDF 194-199 motorcoaches  going by how those numbers appear in the photograph.

Hi Valkyrie,

Thanks for the info I’ve looked and it seems to be SDF 195,and the ERF looks like TTK 234 Dorset Reg.The camera I had then was only a cheapie I’m afraid.

Regards
Richard

Hello Maggie ,they also had Guy coaches Black and white which i think were unusual , i think Shrewsbury would have been a N Wales half way stop .thank you Trevor
Hi Trevor

Yes they did I’ll try and find a photo I’ve got of one and put it on the Bus thread

Regards
Richard

Morning.
Black and White coaches from Cheltenham were regulars in Sheffield bus station in summer.
Hi Chris,

Hope you are enjoying life in Thirsk even without your furniture !

Did any Black & Whites stop to pick you up when you were on a dodgy ?

Regards
Richard

Great pic Richard. Thanks to everyone else for there comments on this pic about the coach.

Out of intrest Richard was that photo taken on the Christchurch A35 bypass as that road still has similar railing and a layby which i think is what
you can see in the distance behind the vehicles ■■? :unamused:

Hi Dean,

Well spotted Dean it was indeed the A35,hope you are staying safe.

Regards
Richard
