Who rattled your cage…You should be repairing one of these !

Oh I would love to tackle another Gardner Dean. I got rid of all my Gardner spanners and injector reamer etc years ago as it’s 38 years since I last rebuilt one, but still have my workshop manual, a pair of 18" adjustables, Mole grips and a couple of hammers which should suffice!
It would make a nice change from the Listers/Rustons/Internationals etc I have been tackling lately, just pop one on a pallet and let me at it! One of those 8LXB’s from Guy Big J’s would be a challenge, I never worked on those, and there are around 40 of them residing in a barn somewhere up in ‘Nanny Goat’ land so one wouldn’t be missed.
Pete.
This may bring back some memories Pete, Foden used to send “service news” booklets out for fitters to keep up with new products etc.

Hi Dean,Paul
My heart felt thanks go out to you both, for that Kelsan photo. My very dear friend Kelvin Powell From Bridgend.Kelvin was a great friend to me,from the early 1980’s when he went to drive for a mutual friend up to when he was sadly taken from us by Lymphoma in July 2017.That ERF Olympic was a 500 ■■■■■■■■■■■■ GAJ seen delivering a Wernick modular building.Attached is a photo of Kelvin and I collecting the remains of my F88 restoration project,20 years ago. Then he ran a 410 EC, K768 RSM.
Nice that the pic brought back some memories Andrew.

Malcolm Renault.
I have to say I am a bit of a fan of the livery of Malcolm - they always look good - not just the anonymous white that seems so prevalent these days - here is one of their’s in the queue of traffic for the traffic lights under Isambard Kingdon Brunel’s Clifton Suspension Bridge as evening approached
Yes Malcolm’s motors have a good colour scheme Paul. I popped an article on about them on page 189 chap.

Hi Dean, Barnes & Tipping are from Clitheroe in Lancashire, Cheers, Ray.
They used to be based in Eshton Terrace, Clitheroe, when Joe Wood ran the business - his son John took over later, and I think I’m right in remembering that they moved into the old Dutton Transport premises near Whalley before the business failed many years ago
Thanks for the info Chris.

MOL Shipping Iveco.
One of “my” former fleets - MOL (Mitsui OSK LInes) was, at that time one of the largest shipping lines in the world, although far from the largest container line. A number of shipping lines had liveries applied to hauliers’ vehicles, but this was unusual because they were supplied on a dedicated contract hire and operated from MOL’s own traffic desk in Southampton. The fleet peaked at around 28, as I recall, and I contract-hired them from BTS - Bowden Transportation Services, the last gasp, in transport terms, of the former BFI operation. At that time, this was BTS’ entire fleet, apart from 2 or 3 working for TML, and who themselves were wholly owned by Bowden by then, albeit as the non-asset-based clearing house they always were.
Nice bit of info Chris about MOL.

Hi Dean,
A warm welcome to Paul and many thanks for the all the photo’s and hard work that goes into this thread from you both.
Here’s a local photo taken in the early 60’s of a company close to your area taken when you were both quite young !!
Take care
Regards
Richard
Great pic Richard. Thanks to everyone else for there comments on this pic about the coach.
Out of intrest Richard was that photo taken on the Christchurch A35 bypass as that road still has similar railing and a layby which i think is what
you can see in the distance behind the vehicles ■■?
Retired Old ■■■■:
Nice to see you’ve poked your head above the parapet at last, Paul. We’ve been admiring your shots all this time without any contact. Have you sacked your minion?
