Too much bling for me too Dean plus I’m not a Swedish fan
I’m trying to recall his uncles fleet
I think they were from Sheffield J Osbourne they ran a few Scammell Handyman’s right through to the 80s
Cheers Gary [emoji106]

“Not a Swedish fan” :open_mouth:  Definately the wrong thing to put on this thread Gary !

What colour were they ?

Hey up Dean I think Osbournes were Blue and Black
[/quote

G Osbourne did run Scammells, they were two shades of blue, and worked out of Steel Peech and Tozer (BSC) Templeborough.I did have a photo but can’t find it…………

Thanks for that Chris I recall reading in a Truck Magazine about them and Harrison’s running older lorries well into the 80s but I can’t remember which magazine it was
Cheers Gary

I remember one of the last lorries that Harrison’s ran an ERF C series past me on the M18 early in the 2000’s I think .

Hi dean,no still got mine mate that was taken Tuesday morning

Hi Dean,Paul
My heart felt thanks go out to you both, for that Kelsan photo. My very dear friend Kelvin Powell From Bridgend.Kelvin was a great friend to me,from the early 1980’s when he went to drive for a mutual friend up to when he was sadly taken from us by Lymphoma in July 2017.That ERF Olympic was a 500 ■■■■■■■■■■■■ GAJ seen delivering a Wernick modular building.Attached is a photo of Kelvin and I collecting the remains of my F88 restoration project,20 years ago. Then he ran a 410 EC, K768 RSM.

DEANB:
“gasa401” Gary, A bit about Pete Osborne as requested. I am sure there is a proper article about him with one of his motors

Hi Andrew,
Is this the same F88? One of Steelboy F10 pics!

DEANB:
Not sure if its HYC Ross or HY Cross DAF from Yorkshire.

It appears it is not either of those options!!! It is Hycross 2000!!! According to Mr Google they are based at Bankside Farm not far from the junction of the M62 with the M18

Here is another of their’s I caught heading south on the M5 near Gloucester - on from what I can remember was a rather cold and wet day!!!

DEANB:
Malcolm Renault.

I have to say I am a bit of a fan of the livery of Malcolm - they always look good - not just the anonymous white that seems so prevalent these days - here is one of their’s in the queue of traffic for the traffic lights under Isambard Kingdon Brunel’s Clifton Suspension Bridge as evening approached

Ray Smyth:
Hi Dean, Barnes & Tipping are from Clitheroe in Lancashire, Cheers, Ray.

They used to be based in Eshton Terrace, Clitheroe, when Joe Wood ran the business - his son John took over later, and I think I’m right in remembering that they moved into the old Dutton Transport premises near Whalley before the business failed many years ago

DEANB:
MOL Shipping Iveco.

AU03 EXM.JPG

One of “my” former fleets - MOL (Mitsui OSK LInes) was, at that time one of the largest shipping lines in the world, although far from the largest container line. A number of shipping lines had liveries applied to hauliers’ vehicles, but this was unusual because they were supplied on a dedicated contract hire and operated from MOL’s own traffic desk in Southampton. The fleet peaked at around 28, as I recall, and I contract-hired them from BTS - Bowden Transportation Services, the last gasp, in transport terms, of the former BFI operation. At that time, this was BTS’ entire fleet, apart from 2 or 3 working for TML, and who themselves were wholly owned by Bowden by then, albeit as the non-asset-based clearing house they always were.

Pete 359 - so sorry to hear of the sad departure of your friend - Thanks so much for the photo - Dean will love your project!!! He is a bit of a fan of the old Volvo F88!!! Can you tell me if this picture I took last year is the same Kelsan Transport as the ERF Olympic??

Thanks Richard for your kind words and the brilliant photo!!! It reminded me of the somewhat distinctive smell there used to be as you went past their factory at the top of the Old Wareham Road - if it was a stronger smell than normal my Father used to say “they have burnt that batch”!!! They are still there but have not done their own haulage for some years now - take care and keep safe

Nice to see you’ve poked your head above the parapet at last, Paul. We’ve been admiring your shots all this time without any contact. Have you sacked your minion?

TruckNetUK . Old Time Lorries . Paul Gee’s Photo Collection .436. Black & White Motorways Motorcoach.
Saturday,18th April,2020. VALKYRIE

AEC Reliance MU3RV1382/Willowbrook C37C Motorcoach,CN-QV,BN 56911,SDF 195 ? ,1957,2-1957,Black & White Motorways,Cheltenham,No.A195.ERF KV Artic Lorry,Ryvita.TNUK,OTL-Paul Gee’s PC,436.4-2020.MaggieD.3# A 1963 Ford Corsair Motorcar is following the AEC motorcoach.

I am not certain of the registrations of both the AEC motorcoach and ERF KV lorry since, with respect, the
photograph is not crystal clear. However,I can make an educated guess of the AEC motorcoach’s
registration  since it is one of Black & White’s AEC Reliance SDF 194 to SDF 203 batch, though I do think its
one of the SDF 194-199 motorcoaches  going by how those numbers appear in the photograph.
