Pics from 2006.

Innovate Logistics Volvo. I remember this company starting and then they disappeared fairly quickly as i remember. Anyone know
what happened ■■

2

Went bust big style. Had no knowledge or experience of frozen and chilled distribution. Stobart bought some of Innovate out of administration thinking that it would be a way into that sector for them and guess what… they couldn’t make it pay either. The fridge trailers you see behind Stobart units are doing Tesco work, Stobart has no presence in the open chilled and frozen distribution sector

Innovate took the Malton Bacon contract off Wincanton at Maltby and moved it to Manton Wood Worksop. They didn’t last long,I think Yearsleys took some of the work and Corby Chilled was involved somewhere in it.

Daz, RMC Routeman seen here at Poole docks. If you look you can see the rear of the RMC ships arse end at the back of the drivers side
and the top of the ship above the building. Had a gravel/concrete yard on the dock side.

R.A.C. Marsh Volvo F88 from Portsmouth.

Rare Dennison of David Mculla from Ireland. Sherpa Gas van behind with a Dodge which i think was BT ■■?

FIAT looks like Eurohaul from Souhampton.

Someimes you just cant belive what you are seeing ! The “Mighty Bedford TK” broken down… :unamused: :frowning: Obviously bad maintenance.

Anyone recognise the colour scheme on the Scania. We have had several pics of this motor and i think one other so probably a
small haulier / owner driver with a couple of trucks ■■?

Cant make the name out on the Scania from Oswestry ■■?

Griffiths Scania.

Les Hughes & Son timber hauling Foden.

H.E.Hughes & Sons ERF tanker.

Yes Chris, the well-known “name” behind the formation of Innovate bought Corby Chilled (which was owned by the son of Daniel Stewart). Yerasley’s bought the Innovate cold store when it went belly-up.

Dean Innovate was started and created by one Pete Osbourne IIRC and the old grey matter is working, he was an owner driver who had an F16 amongst other trucks which in my opinion were well over the top, they looked impressive and went to truck shows etc but that does not put meat in the sandwich, IIRC he was backed by an Icelandic bank and bought out Corby chilled and then the doom time came and they had all top notch gear but that still has to be paid for and with the financial pressure around 2008 proved too much and the rest as they say is history. This is from my memory only so I may be incorrect on some of the above, Buzzer

John,
You are correct in mentioning Pete Osbournes name regarding Innovate, when it all went belly up you could recognise their old FH units by the orange mudwings on the units, Clarkes of Oldbury had 6 of them, Cheer’s Pete

Hi Dean,
The Scania is one of Dave Timmins from Telford, yard was in Much Wenlock.

What was the tie-up between Clarke’s and Potter? Of course, Potter sold out to Bowker around 2016

moomooland:
Atkinson Mk I Silver Knight 4x2 tractor unit Reg No BTE 180E Fleet No 54 was fitted with the first Gardner 6LXB 180 engine to come off the Atkinson production line at Walton-le-Dale in January 1967.

Costing £3,420 and baring chassis No FC 14192 it was first registered for road use on the 15th of February 1967.

This particular vehicle was also fitted with, what was at the time, the new wide Kirkstall S cam brakes on the front and rear and was also the first Atkinson Mk I to have the lock actuator brakes.

Thanks Paul - did you clock ETF 510J in the photos posted above as well?

I don’t know Chris, I think that Potters did the warehousing side and Clarkes the transport side for the companies involved, at Potters Droitwich site I reckon there was 8 to 10 loads a day out of there. It was all hazardous goods.

Hi pete and 240 Gardner, you are correct it’s bowkers now we still kept the transport for them we have quite a lot of work from them

Yeah remember them Buzzer,i think they were from Barnsley. I agree with you about too much bling that cow catcher spoils the look
of the Volvo. I like some bling but not too much !

Must admit Daz,missed the ship the first time i looked at the pic. The gravel yard is still there but further down the docks although
i am not sure who operates it these days. Its original site is now used by unseeker the luxury boat builder.
